MAGIC KINGDOM – Blaze Of Rage (2024) *HQ*
Symphonic heavy metal act MAGIC KINGDOM has a new studio album, entitled ”Blaze of Rage”, for a December 13th, 2024, release via Massacre Records. Four years of creativity finally come to an end with this strong 6th opus.
With excellent Michael Vescera on lead vocals and mastermind Dushan Petrossi signature guitar sound, virtuoso playing, captivating melodies and powerful anthemic choruses completing majestic orchestrations, this concept album showcase once more MAGIC KINGDOM’s power.
”Blaze of Rage” features 12 tracks with a complete storyline from beginning until end, however tracks like “Undead At The Gates“, “Bells Of Triumph” and title track “Blaze Of Storming Rage” – which will be released as single – can be perfectly enjoyed standalone.
A rebellion of damned souls is certainly an epic topic and Petrossi, along with his bandmates, has crafted an expansive listening experience for the fans, one that brings in a lot of varied influences from classic metal, sympho to acoustic pieces and a wide variety of vocals to give the story’s characters life.
There are straight power metal cuts, sweeping cinematic elements, thoughtful passages, etc. and frankly it is a lot to take in.
The songwriting is over the top, even for metal. Make no mistake, Magic Kingdom are talented and ”Blaze of Rage”sounds clean and sharp, as you would expect from a veteran metal band.
Perhaps Magic Kingdom has bitten off more than it or its fans can chew, but ”Blaze of Rage” will still likely find proponents among those who enjoy Rhapsody of Fire, Royal Hunt, Firewind and the like.
