Now we are featuring here an album that many melodic hard rock fans never heard of: “Give Me Air“, by VOODOOLAND. This is the band / project of Karl Cochran, guitarist for many Joe Lynn Turner solo albums – Karl also was part of the Ace Frehley Band, Phantom’s Opera, ESP (Eric Singer Project), more recently Rated X, and others.
‘Give Me Air’ (2004) is a driving classic melodic hard rock sounding album plenty of ballsy guitars, hooks, great vocalists and musicians highlighting the very strong songs Karl produced and co-wrote with partners Robert Mason (Cry Of Love) and Ron Young (Little Caesar).

Karl Cochran performs guitar, bass, and does a couple of lead vocals (very well btw) and there’s a star-studded line up elevating these rocking songs to another level: Joe Lynn Turner put his voice on two terrific cuts, John Corabi on 7 songs, and Bruce Terkildsen (singer of the recently featured here Crash Street / Razor Sharp) on four.
But not only great lead vocals we find here: legend Bob Daisley play bass, Al Fritsch (Drive She Said) on keyboards, Brent Fitz (Slash, Union, Vince Neil) on drums, while icon Ace Frehley and drummer Eric Singer appear on one track.
With a sharp detailed production and tons of groove, “Give Me Air” is a killer collection of quality songs performed with fire by some of the greatest names in the genre. Crank it to 11…
