ALCATRAZZ – The Best of Alcatrazz + Live in the USA [feat Yngwie Malmsteen] [2-CD] (2021)

Specialized British label The Store For Music has released the double CD “The Best of Alcatrazz + Live In the USA“, comprising ALCATRAZZ best ’80s songs into one disc, plus a live recording into disc two also including unreleased demos.
Formed by vocalist Graham Bonnet (of Rainbow fame), Jimmy Waldo and Gary Shea in Los Angeles, back in the early ‘80s, ALCATRAZZ featured the services of top guitarists Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai, both line-ups represented here by salient tunes from their four studio albums.

There’s ALCATRAZZ ‘best of’ releases already, however the sound quality here is surprisingly better than some recent remasters.
Additionally, the bonus disc ‘Live in the USA’ also sounds great – it’s not easy to find Alcatrazz live recordings from the Malmsteen era in such fine quality. And there’s some cool demos for fans / completists.
