HERE

Put together less than a year ago, DURTY TRiiX is the new band founded by Scotty Ginn (from hard rockers Rags ‘N’ Riches) alongside experienced colleagues from Australia. Their debut album “Crackin’ Skulls And Crushin’ Bones” is chock full of killer song embodying everything that was great about ’80s hard rock with a contemporary edge.
The classic influences are certainly there – AC/DC, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Scorpions, even Danger Danger – Scotty Ginn’s vocal tone is similar to Ted Poley at places. However DURTY TRiiX has their own vibe, fleshed out by Ginn’s distinctive songwriting style.

Things kick off in lively fashion with “Living In Danger” which had – for me at least – essences of Judas Priest circa British Steel era. The stomping title track has a rather more obvious (AC/DC) Aussie band feel to it, before the neat funky groove of “Miss Kitty’s Bar” weaves a salacious storyline over a fine, late night bar room vibe.
“Can’t Stop Thinking About You” wasn’t the expected ballad but a flat out, radio friendly Danger Danger-styled slice of pop metal that should rightly ensure many internet station playlist inclusions; before returning to the sleazy hard rocking riffs of “Loose Lips & Tight Hips”.

The short sharp rocker “Confusion & Illusion” has a slightly vintage Def Leppard sound or better, Roadhouse. Then we have the hard working “Tell Me Honey” with a lot of Aerosmith to it – 70s Aerosmith.
“Legend Down” has a real early Scorpions feel to it which, if you like Schenker & company, then that will also float your particular boat; before the rousing album closer “Stand Up Get Up” that will I’m sure have many a gig goer raising the roof of many a venue.

DURTY TRiiX debut “Crackin’ Skulls And Crushin’ Bones” is a rousing collection of rockers in various styles that would be a great addition to getting ready for a good night out. It’s all enjoyable stuff recorded straight from the amp – no studio trickery here, just pure and fun rock n’ roll.
