KITE PARADE – Disparity (2024)
UK-based musician Andy Foster, better known in the rock community as KITE PARADE, is releasing its third album titled “Disparity“. We resulted very impressed by the quality of KITE PARADE’s previous records, and Foster’s ability to blend progressive rock with melodic rock in equal parts.
Call “Disparity” melodic prog or neo prog or whatever you want – on this album you’ll be rewarded with elegantly written & arranged songs with a timeless feeling. While KITE PARADE is a ‘one man band’ as Foster is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and a smooth vocalist, he always look cor collaborators to enrich the sound. ZIO’s Jimmy Pallagrosi play the drums all over the album, and we find guest appearances from Magenta’s Christina Booth, ZIO’s Jimmy Pallagrosi, and bassist Marcin Pallider.
Musically, KITE PARADE and ”Disparity” is varied piece of work of melodic prog, rock/pop, melodic rock with pomp overtones, and classic rock. Listening to KITE PARADE is quite refreshing.
Do you like intelligent rock&pop music with proggy twists and hooks? Grab ”Disparity” now. Think latter day Marillion, IQ, Alan Parsons Project, It Bites, even ’80s popsters Go West.
Andy Foster has done it again. “Disparity” is another highly enjoyable, melodic and accessible prog-pop album, that somehow manages to raise the bar further still from the impressive first two albums.
Andy shows that he now has the confidence to embrace more musically progressive ideas without sacrificing his uncanny ability to conjure up joyous melodies – all heightened by sparkling and gleaming production values.
For those who like their prog rock on the very melodic side, ”Disparity” is a mandatory listen.
