LeBROCK – Hope (2025) HQ *Exclusive*

Excellent Synthwave / melodic rock / 80s power pop-rock Bristish combo LeBROCK are celebrating their 10th anniversary with the release of their new work titled “Hope“.
A favorite of this website, LeBrock brought a fresh sound to the genre with their first two EPs, 2016’s ‘Action & Romance’ and 2018’s ‘Real Thing’. Alongside their dream-like ’80s synths these guys add to their sound heartfelt vocal performances and robust guitar chords & solos.
It’s not surprising that LeBrock is presenting “Hope” on tour all over UK. It happen that while most Synthwave artists are studio projects, LeBrock is a real rock band, rocking venues.
“Hope” is just another superb collection of songs where the core of LeBrock – Shaun Phillips (Vocals) & Michael Meadows (Guitars, Synths, Bass) – are helped, as usual, by other colleagues to provide their touch, and not repeat themselves. There’s even a ‘metal’ pinch to the track ‘Tame The Beast’.
You can’t resist to the melodies on songs like ‘In Your Arms’, Stars’, ‘Actors’, and especially ‘Heartbeats’. Love these guys.

BRIDGER (Terry Ilous lead vocals) – Bridger [Self-Released version +1] *HQ*

Many of you requested material form stupendous vocalist Terry Ilous (XYZ). So you need to listen to this album he has recorded with guitarist Glen Bridger. Titled “Bridger“, this rocking collection of songs was released by Escape Music some time ago, however, Glen Bridger re-released the album himself with the addition of an unreleased track from the same sessions. The cover artwork is also different, hand signed by the artist.
This ”Bridger [Self-Released version +1]” is a rare, limited edition disc now out of print.
BRIDGER is the namesake solo album from guitarist Glen Bridger. Glen steps out of his role as lead guitarist for classic rock band Head East (he left the band 2022) to offer here his own songs in the melodic rock / hard rock style, and one tribute song to Ronnie James Dio. Sadly, Glen Bridger passed away February 20, 2025. (RIP)
Terry Ilous not only handled the lead vocals, but also co-wrote and produced the record. The line up is completed by Glen’s fellow Head East mate Greg Manahan on bass, keyboards by Sam McCaslin (Michael Schenker, Carmine Appice), and the oddly named Danzoid on drums.
Ex- King Kobra JK Northrup also pops up to lend a hand on guitar and bass and co-produce with Ilous…

FRONTLINE – Circles [AOR Heaven Records release] *HQ*

As requested, here’s another very good album from German melodic hard rockers FRONTLINE – their second album with vocalist Stephan Kaemmerer, titled “Circles“.
”Circles” sees the band making some changes to their sound – this is still the melodic beast we all know, but with a heavier, menacing sound. The guitar work on this album also takes on a harder edge, with the riffs in particular sharper and more aggressive than before. Also, the soloing seems a bit more adventurous on ”Circles”.
This aspect of the sound brings Frontline’s sound a lot closer to melodic hard rock than the AOR-ish leanings of the past. From a production standpoint, everything is perfectly heard, polished.
Anyway, as with any Frontline album, strong and memorable melodies, accentuated by keyboard textures are a key part of the sound. That’s still remains true on ”Circles”, but again, from a slightly different angle. Just ballsier…

KRISTINE – Kristine [2025 reissue +1] *HQ*

One of the greatest Synthwave AOR albums to have EVER been released gets a much needed repress. We already presented here in exclusive more than a decade ago Greek female singer / musician Christina Lianou aka Kristine Yay or simply ‘KRISTINE‘, and her lovely debut EP of pure ’80s sounding music. After some singles and colaborations with other artists, the time for Kristine’s debut full length CD (and LP & cassette) arrived.
The self-titled album “Kristine” is a fascinating journey down the Eighties where classic vocals meets the synth sounds over commercial catchy melodies. Fans were asking for the reissue as the original release sold out.
So we have here a fresh 2025 CD repressing of “Kristine” (also available on vinyl, both limited) and despite these recordings date from over a decade ago, it doesn’t matters – this is timeless stuff, and a good one. As a gift, the package includes Kristine’s recent single recorded last year.
Over the last fifteen years Kristine has become one of the most famous retrowave / synthwave singers and producers out there — and certainly the most famous woman in that group — but with some of the songs from this debut album she also crossed over into mainstream radio.
Her songs such as “The Deepest Blue” and “Modern Love” are nouveau classics of ’80s retrosynth / radio rock&pop, bringing to mind as well that decade movie soundtracks. She can write terrific hooks and sing great melodies with earnest emotion…

JOHN CAFFERTY & THE BEAVER BROWN BAND – Sound of Waves (2025) *HQ Exclusive*

JOHN CAFFERTY & THE BEAVER BROWN BAND are celebrating their 50+ years with the release of a new album, ”Sound of Waves”, via Moonstone Music. What makes the news of the album so unique is that it represents their first studio effort in 37 years.
New England institution John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band have been around since 1972, but they got their big break in 1983, when movie producer Kenny Vance hired them to provide the songs for the bar-band movie Eddie And The Cruisers. The film and its soundtrack were hits, and The Beaver Brown Band went on to contribute soundtrack-rock jams for movies like Rocky IV and Cobra.
John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band are still around, and their lineup still features original members Cafferty, guitarist Gary Gramolini, and saxophonist Michael “Tunes” Antunes. They haven’t released an album since the soundtrack to 1989’s Eddie And The Cruisers II: Eddie Lives! – but that’s about to change.
It’s obvious that Cafferty and the guys maintain their original ’80s sound here – that’s what fans want to hear…

JUDAS PRIEST – Live in Atlanta ’82 [RSD 2025 Exclusive] HQ *0dayrox Exclusive*

JUDAS PRIEST incendiary performance from the Atlanta stop of their World Vengeance Tour, recorded at the Omni, 11th December 1982 is being released as a double LP exclusively for Record Store Day 2025. The recording has been mastered for vinyl and sound quality is excellent.
The band’s most commercially successful to that point, Screaming For Vengeance, was a juggernaut from start to finish with songs like “Electric Eye,” the title track, “Devil’s Child,” and, of course, “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming.” It was an album that found Judas Priest on a massive world tour between August 1982 and February 1983, performing to thousands of packed arenas and coliseums each night, arguably one of the most historic runs in their career. A total of one-hundred and eleven shows in total, along the journey, they took various supporting acts, including Krokus, Uriah Heep, and Iron Maiden!
Not to be missed; fortunately, Judas Priest had the foresight to capture the World Vengeance Tour on tape for future reference. Recognized for recording the December 12, 1982 show at Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee, this became the epic 1983 Judas Priest Live VHS and Laserdisc release before being re-released in 2006 as a DVD and UMD under the title Live Vengeance ’82.
The latter is a must-have for any Priest fan; but how many are also aware that just one night prior, on December 11, 1982, Judas Priest recorded their performance in Atlanta, Georgia, at The Omni? Chances are not too much, but they did. And its here in its entirety in “Live in Atlanta ’82 [RSD 2025 Exclusive]“.
A Heavy Metal lover’s dreams come true, the World Vengeance Tour also featured a set list for the ages that not only promoted Screaming for Vengeance but also highlighted earlier material such as 1976’s “Victims of Changes” and “The Ripper,” 1977’s “Sinner,” but also 1978’s “Hell Bent for Leather.” Additionally, you had standouts (which were relatively new at the time), including “Breaking The Law,” “Metal Gods,” “Living After Midnight,” and “Heading Out To The Highway” as part of the live performances…

OAK – The Third Sleep (2025)

With their upcoming fourth album, ”The Third Sleep”, to be released next week, Norwegian crossover progressive rock band OAK delivers a striking exploration of societal complacency and the struggle of the individual. The album contrasts light and darkness, both thematically and musically, seamlessly blending acoustic passages with the raw intensity of progressive metal.
OAK’s dynamic and melancholic sound is reminiscent of RIVERSIDE, PORCUPINE TREE, and ANATHEMA on the one hand – symphonic and neo-dark metal – with soft, atmospheric, hypnotic rhythms bordering on pop from TEARS FOR FEARS and TALK TALK on the other.
“No Such Place” kicks off with a crossover to anchor itself, an ethereal and icy pop tune, a captivating melody with syncopated drum beats, and distant piano, like those NASA voiceovers. “London” brings electric reverberation, a purely Wilsonian feel in the writing leaning towards the ’80s for its dark wave and progressive spirit.
A hauntingly memorable piano line opens ”Run Into the Sun” and the shimmering swathe of keyboards adds a polished sheen to this stunning track. Simen Valldal Johannessen is on top form here, his vocals are just beautiful, especially on the fine chorus and we are treated to one of OAK’s best songs yet.
What really impresses on ”The Third Sleep” is how the band have brought the guitars more to the fore and it really adds another dimension to their already impressive progressive music…

D-A-D – Live From The Arena [RSD edition] (2025)

Last year, Danish rock institution D-A-D celebrated their 40th anniversary with a sold-out Royal Arena show in front of 15,000 fans. Now, you can relive that once-in-a-lifetime birthday party with the band’s new live album “Live From The Arena” especially released for the Record Store Day 2025.
D-A-D was formed under the name Disneyland After Dark in Copenhagen in 1982, but they count March 3, 1984 as their birth date, when they first had Jacob Binzer on guitar, that was the day they all played their first gig together.
The band opens with “Jihad” from the album “No Fuel Left for the Pilgrims”, which is one of their absolute best songs. Phenomenal start to the concert. Awesome crowd and great sing-along from the audience. They follow up with “Evil Twin” from ‘Everything Glows’ and “1st, 2nd & 3rd” from their recent studio album ‘Speed of Darkness’.
To make the celebration complete, Peter Lundholm Jensen – DAD’s original drummer, who played with the band until 1999 – appears as guest on three songs.
A standout rocking concert with songs from the eras of the band, perfectly captured…

HAYWIRE – Don’t Just Stand There [Canadian remastered reissue +2] HQ *Exclusive*

As requested, here we have the Canadian CD remastered reissue of HAYWIRE second album “Don’t Just Stand There“, including 2 bonus tracks. While the band easily was one the best Melodic (Hard) Rock bands produced by Canada during the ’80s, if you ask a fan of the genre, HAYWIRE rarely pop up as one of them or the first coming to mind. You get as an answer Loverboy, Honeymoon Suite, Triumph, etc. but this 5-piece from Charlottetown were second to none, and even better than many of their contemporaries.
After the successful debut LP, and again produced by expert Brian Allen, “Don’t Just Stand There” was released 1987. The band desired to make a harder album than their AOR pop/rock debut, in the vein of Bon Jovi’s hit Slippery When Wet. And indeed there’s more muscle still very commercial and radiable.
Songs like “One Heart Affair” and “Hard Reaction” are dancefloor rockers in the same vein as Bon Jovi or Harem Scarem, “Fire” packs a catchy beat akin Honeymoon Suite, while ”Separate Dreams” is a tightly crafted and rhythmically involving piece of Top-40 rock. We find a power ballad of course, “Thinkin’ About the Years”, but a mature, well crafted slow number it is…

HAYWIRE – Bad Boys [Canadian remastered reissue] HQ *Exclusive*

As requested, here we have the Canadian CD remastered reissue of HAYWIRE 1986’s debut album “Bad Boys“.
After entering in a Toronto radio station ‘battle of the bands’ contest in 1985, Haywire recorded by themselves an EP, and eventually got signed by the now legendary Canadian label Attic Records (Triumph).
The label secured the expert hands & ears of Brian Allen (Toronto, Lee Aaron, Santers) to produce Haywire’s debut, and the result was “Bad Boys”, released in 1986. The title track, chosen as single, exploded at local radio stations, and soon conquered America and MTV.
This is the kind of Melodic Rock with poppy AOR melodies that ruled the mid-’80s, with catchy choruses all over. The other singles “Standin’ In Line” and “Shot In The Dark” (all also video-clips) follow the same style; slick production, clean instrumentation and lots of keyboard-oriented tunes.
“Bad Boys” is prime Canuck Melodic Rock / AOR from the golden era, and a must have in your collection if you are fan of the genre…

The ”Lost US Jewels” Vol.3 ; ROULETTE featuring Bob Wheeler – If Time… (Out Of Print) *HQ*

Some great AOR & Melodic Rock acts – specifically in the Eighties / Nineties – both in UK and the US never got the luck they truly deserved. So this is the mission of Steelheart Memories Records with their “Lost UK / US Jewels” Collector’s Series; endeavor to bring you these ‘hidden treasures’ via Limited Edition Collector’s Volumes (500 copies pressed of each CD).
As requested, here’s “ROULETTE featuring Bob Wheeler – If Time… [Lost US Jewels Vol.3]”, including previously unreleased material. What we have here is in fact singer Bob Wheeler-fronted bands ROULETTE and T.C. JESTER recorded material but never properly released. Both Dallas‐based bands toured throughout the U.S. in the early Nineties.
ROULETTE with their melodic and ‐ at the same time ‐ hard rocking sound recalling styles and bands like Van Halen, Triumph, Roxy Blue, and a bit of Damn Yankees recorded a professional demo of 5 songs. These songs were offered to labels, but ultimately shelved. Now appear here for the first time. It’s catchy stuff with a very good audio quality.
After Roulette, Wheeler joined T.C. JESTER, a much more hard edged / guitar driven project a la Skid Row and their second album Slave To The Grind type of sound. While heavier and sharper in its delivery, the core of the songs is very melodic, with Wheeler showcasing a more powerful vocal attack, yet with interesting vocal harmony arrangements…

HALL OF GODS (Ronnie Romero, Zak Stevens, Ralf Scheepers) – A Tribute to the Gods of Music (2025) *HQ*

HALL OF GODS is the music project of Rafael Agostino, responsible for the songwriting and recording of all the instruments on the first effort titled “A Tribute to the Gods of Music“, a metal / hard rock `piece of work highlighting the melancholic and melodious facet of classical music giants.
Taking as inspiration from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Beethoven, Grieg, etc, but from the perspective of their genius, Agostino’s musical foundation is based on heavy guitar riffs, big drums, with a few synth orchestrations to embellish.
HALL OF GODS is metal, melodic, with variation, and to tell his homage the these greats Agostino called other ‘greats’ from the metal scene to put their impressive voices on it: Ronnie Romero, Ralf Scheepers, Zak Stevens, Chris Caffery, and more.
The result is pretty impressive, grandiose. The tech part is really good, very well recorded & produced. But then you need the songs, and Agostino is a truly accomplished composer. And we say ‘composer’ as this guy is much more than a songwriter – each track takes you to diverse places with its varied arrangements and melodic twists…

SILVER NIGHTMARES (lead vocals Göran Edman) – Roxy Passion (2025) HQ *Exclusive*

Formed in Palermo, Italy in 2018 by bassist Gabriele Esposito, drummer Alessio Maddaloni and keyboardist Gabriele
Taormina, rock band SILVER NIGHTMARES went through several configurations until arriving at its current line-up with Diego La Mantia at charge of electric & acoustic guitars. Their music style drew from a wide variety of influences including progressive rock, AOR, trad metal and hard rock.
SILVER NIGHTMARES already released an independent album three years ago but after replacing the guitarist they needed new singer too, and the guys decided to give the band a more international exposure: they asked fantastic Swedish singer Göran Edman to perform the new songs for they just released work titled “Roxy Passion“.
And darn, everything Edman touches turns to gold. But you need good songs too to make it work, and SILVER NIGHTMARES are wonderful writers and imaginative players.
Don’t be fooled by the cover art – yeah, “Roxy Passion” is fun melodic hard rocker about women, drinks and rok n’ roll, and Göran smokes – but for the most part SILVER NIGHTMARES’ music has a much more progressive AORsish feeling, embellished by vintage analog synths and a classy production.
Then you need to hear Edman on the really well written ”The Blue Light of a Star”. A great tune and a marvelous interpretation by this awesome vocalist, providing for a deeply moving blues-infused vocal – astounding as ever – with pianos, synths and effects filling the senses…
