CHER – Cher [Japan HR/HM 1000 Vol.4 series] (2022)

Universal Music Japan has started this year another campaign of their ‘HR/HM 1000‘ series, that meaning the reissue of long time out of print albums from their Hard Rock / Heavy Metal catalog at the price of 1000 Yen = about 9 USD.
As part of the 2022 Japan HR-HM 1000 Vol.4 series, as requested, here’s CHER self-titled album from 1987. While a CD version of this really good album isn’t so hard to find, this Japanese pressing is pretty awesome in dynamics and it’s really cheap. A Limited Edition well worth the investment.
Self-titled ‘Cher’, originally released in 1987, would become her comeback album after focusing on a film career. It was produced by Michael Bolton, Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and Desmond Child.
So you know what to expect here…

CHER – Heart Of Stone remastered [from ‘Chronicles’ Limited 3xCD Box Set] *EXCLUSIVE*

With the just released remastered reissue of Black Rose featuring CHER, some of you asked for her ’80s AOR albums in remastered form. Geffen Records never commissioned a remastered reissue of the 3 albums CHER recorded with them, al least not to be reissued individually.
But for this ‘Cher Chronicles‘ – a Special Edition three-disc box in a curious ‘Longbox’ package – appeared in 2005, indeed the albums received a remastering. It’s a ’90s type’ remaster (not much compressed) but it sounds million times better that the original CD press.
Heart Of Stone” was released in 1989 and was CHER’s second album for Geffen Records. As with her previous LP, Jon Bon Jovi, Diane Warren, Guy Roche and Desmond Child contributed songwriting and/or produced. Bonnie Tyler and Michael Bolton performed background vocals, Steve Lukather, Mike Landau…

BLACK ROSE (Cher) – Black Rose [Rock Candy Remastered] (2020) *EXCLUSIVE*

Rock Candy specialists have remastered the quite rare ”Black Rose”, the lone album by the US rock band BLACK ROSE, whose lead singer was American singer-actress CHER. The album was released in the summer 1980 by Casablanca Records, but failed to chart due to poor promotion.
Including the likes of Steve Porcaro, David Paich, Michael Boddicker, Ron “Rocket” Ritchotte, James Newton Howard and more talented session musicians, ”Black Rose” is CHER’s first album with a rocking sound, that would characterize her future Geffen-era records.
