CARL DIXON (Coney Hatch) – Unbroken (2019)

Frontman of legendary Canadian melodic hard rockers Coney Hatch, CARL DIXON has recorded a brand new solo effort by the name of “Unbroken” to be released tomorrow on AOR Heaven Records. Written & arranged in collaboration with Robby Böbel, a long-time stalwart on the German melodic rock music scene with bands like Frontline and Phantom V, among many.
The result is a powerfully sung and performed album that reaches the heights of traditional, classic AOR / Melodic Rock. Memorable hooks, strong melodies, great guitar playing / production, plus drumming performed by Mark Santer (Santers) and newcomer Dylan Gowan (Vesperia, Cardinal Street).

CONEY HATCH – Outa Hand +3 [Rock Candy Remastered & Reloaded]

We already featured here some albums from one of the most underrated Canadian bands of the ’80s: CONEY HATCH. Remastered & Reloaded by Rock Candy Records, and appeared on CD for the first time, the band’s second effort “Outa Hand” is a hell of a rocking album.
Their highly respected self-titled debut album (also available on the blog) garnered much international acclaim, especially in the United Kingdom, allowing the Canadian four piece to unleash an even more impressive sophomore LP.
Issued in 1982, and produced by English maverick Max Norman (Ozzy Osbourne, Y&T), the band succeeded in crafting an album that many regard as their greatest work…

CONEY HATCH – Four [comeback album]

This was requested again by one of you and it’s a really nice one because this album was criminally ignored when originally released. And it’s a really good one.
Along with such contemporaries as Helix, Killer Dwarfs and Headpins, CONEY HATCH defined Canadian hard rock in the ’80s. The band returned with this “Four“, their first album in nearly three decades released via Frontiers Music.
For those uninitiated, Coney Hatch broke onto the Canuck music landscape at the beginning of the Eighties releasing three albums on Anthem / Polygram and toured with the likes of Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ted Nugent and Cheap Trick.
Coney Hatch made a huge splash on the international hard rock scene when their self-titled debut album arrived in 1982 produced by Max Webster’s frontman / guitarist Kim Mitchell. The disc featured the stand-out tracks Devil’s Deck, Hey Operator and Monkey Bars — catapulting the Canadian combo onto world tours.
