GOODBYE THRILL – Longplay [Kivel Records] (2026) *HQ*

It’s hard to believe, but it’s been almost 20 years since melodic rockers GOODBYE THRILL released their debut album. What began as a side project for vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Marc Ferreira quickly grew into one of his favorite bands. Now they’re back with their fourth album, ”Longplay”, available exclusively on physical CD through Kivel Records.
This time, the lineup is strengthened by the addition of the talented Gus Monsanto, who not only plays bass but also delivers lead vocals on a couple of tracks. The result is a sound that’s more powerful and versatile than ever.
Marc’s stunning voice—often reminiscent of C.J. Snare from Firehouse—adds that extra spark to the songs, making them truly shine. ”Longplay” features eleven tracks, most of them high-quality melodic rock numbers in the classic style of the genre, yet produced with a fresh, urgent modern edge. The variety keeps things engaging, while the polished production ensures every song hits hard.
If you’re a fan of that classy hard, melodic rock, this album will be a welcome addition to your collection. Great stuff!

FERREIRA – Baby 7 (2023)

Properly titled “Baby 7“, this is the seventh solo album by New York based melodic rocker Marco Ferreira and his project FERREIRA. Marco is a master of many instruments as he plays almost everything heard on the album and does lead vocals – his brother Alex takes on drum duties, while Gus Monsanto (Adagio, Revolution Renaissance) provide some guest vocals.
“Baby 7” shows Marco Ferreira’s considerable talents as songwriter and performer. Over the course of the album you can really hear Marco’s influences, particularly Mr. Big and Extreme, but it steers clear of becoming derivative. The result is a tight, and well-conceived record that belongs in the collection of any fan of genre.
After the intro ‘It’s Alive!’, the melodic ‘Sand Castles’ is classic Ferreira with warm vocals, great bass line and snappy riffs. ‘Can’t Find The Words’ is pure AOR through and through and features more memorable melodies and understated guitars with a clean but passionate vocal laid over the top, and it bears the hallmarks of a very commercial number…
