JOHN STEEL (lead vocals David Reece, Doogie White) – Distorted Reality [+ 2 Bonus Albums, 2CD Set] (2022)

JOHN STEEL (the band named after the literal English translation of guitarist Ivan Stalev) are a Bulgarian traditional melodic metal band that are well known in central Europe. Having released two previous albums featuring Blaze Bayley and Doogie White respectively on lead vocals, they are now forging ahead with their third record ”Distorted Reality” featuring none other than renowned frontman David Reece (ex-Accept, Bangalore Choir, Bonfire).
But JOHN STEEL are releasing the new album in a 2-disc deluxe edition as well, including the band’s first two releases “Freedom” (Blaze Bayley all vocals) and “Everything Or Nothing” (Doogie White vocals) making this the first worldwide release of the John Steel catalog featuring the full and complete studio recordings of the band.
And all well worth the listen: this is classic, timeless metal with all the feeling and groove from the glorious era…

TAZ TAYLOR BAND (feat Graham Bonnet, Doogie White, Mark Boals) – Nocturnal (2022)

Nocturnal” is the new TAZ TAYLOR BAND album where the guitarist continues with his delivery of classy British style melodic heavy rock. Fans of Michael Schenker, UFO and Gary Moore will find a lot to like here, with a stunning line up of world class vocalists and a core band that have been together now for 2 decades.
One notable guest is Graham Bonnet – there had been little communication between the two men since 2008 [Bonnet recorded the 2006 debut TTB album ‘Welcome To America’ with Taz] but once they were back in touch, a new song ‘The Accidental Tourist’ was soon in the can.
Powerful shouter David Reece contributes vocals to three songs on the album. Outloud’s Chandler Mogel (previously heard on TTB album ‘Pressure And Time’) makes an appearance on the song ‘Blue’.
Taz also reached out to long time acquaintances Doogie White and Mark Boals who also feature prominently on the album. Mark turned in phenomenal performances on three songs and Doogie showed a slightly different side to his huge vocal talent on the song ‘Raw Nerve’…

In other words, classic rock influences which lead to a timeless hard rock vibe.

CHAIN (Doogie White) – Eros Of Love And Destruction [Japan only release]

Many of you requested some material from gifted Scottish vocalist Doogie White, so here’s the hard to find, only released in Japan sole album from short-lived band CHAIN. While finally released at the end of the Nineties, the CD titled “Eros Of Love And Destruction” was written & recorded in the very early 1990’s.
Doggie recorded a really good album with melodic hard rockers MIDNIGHT BLUE, and with the keyboardist of that band Jem Davis (also ex- TOBRUK, UFO), both joined Yorkshire guitarist Ashley Limer (ex- VANDAMNE and also KICK) for this new project; CHAIN.
The focus was put into a more groovy, classic hard rock direction with the late ’80s / early ’90s sound, and the result is some kind of mix between American-era WHITESNAKE, early Mr. BIG, THUNDER, etc.
While a couple of labels were interested at the time, most CHAIN members opted to join other acts and the recording shelved, until several years after due to Doogie White’s rising popularity in Asia, JVC Victor Co. finally released the CD…

“As Yet Untitled” contains very strong melodic hard rockin’ tracks, which Doogie has co-written with a number of good friends that he made over the years in the rock scene.
The list of musicians that have contributed to the album is very impressive without a doubt: drums are shared between Thomas Broman (Glenn Hughes) and Patrick Johansson (Yngwie Malmsteen), bass between ex Whitesnake Neil Murray, Ted Nugent’s Greg Smith and Paul Logue from Eden’s Curse, keyboards by Derek Sherinian & Tony Carey, and most of the guitars fall to talented producer Pontus Norgren with a little help from British bluesman Phil Hilbourne, Royal Hunt/Evergrey guitarist Marcus Jidell and Tank’s Mick Tucker…
