THE PLOT & DAMAGE CONTROL (ft. Pete Way & Michael Schenker) – 2003-2009 [HNE 3CD Box Set] (2022)

The world of hard rock lost a true legend in August 2020 when musician and songwriter Pete Way passed away, shortly after his 70th birthday. Best known as a founder member and bass guitarist of UFO, the enduring music that UFO with Pete Way created influenced everyone from Iron Maiden and Def Leppard to even Metallica. Pete leave and re-join UFO a number of times, leaving for good in 2008.
Pete Way would be involved in a number of collaborations and side projects, including a sporadic solo career. It was during one of his breaks from UFO that he teamed up with fellow UFO band-mate, lead guitarist Michael Schenker, forming the power trio The Plot (CD1) with Badlands’ Jeff Martin on drums in 2003. Quite different to the work that either Pete or Michael had produced with UFO and MSG, and with a slightly sleazy, gritty edge, The Plot has more in common with Pete’s other band, Waysted, but with the bass guitarist now also handling the lead vocals.
Pete Way’s next project was again another collaboration: he joined forces with guitarist Robin George, alongside drummer Chris Slade (AC/DC, The Firm) and The Quireboys’ inimitable lead singer, Spike, to form Damage Control in 2006. This bluesy, melodic hard rock band released 2 albums.
Now Hear No Evil / Cherry red is releasing a 3CD Box Set with these out of print albums.

UFO – Lights Out [Japan Forever Young Series remastered +4] *HQ*

With the recent reissue of two UFO albums remastered many of you asked for more ‘classic UFO’. Chrysalis Records released deluxe editions (featured at 0dayrox) of Phenomenon (1974) and Force It (1975) during the las three years, but still not for following albums.
So now we have here 1977’s ”Lights Out” in its Japanese ‘Japan Forever Young Series‘ edition remastered and including 4 bonus, previously unreleased tracks.
”Lights Out” is a milestone in UFO’s career, when they started to create more mainstream and accessible rock music but at the same time rocking by the hand of the always impressive Michael Schenker guitar, adding string & horn arrangements, and a slick production thanks to master Ron Nevison.
”Lights Out” is an essential LP not only for UFO / Schenker fans, but any classic hard rock aficionado. Your collection isn’t complete…

UFO (feat Michael Schenker) – No Heavy Petting [Japan Forever Young Series remastered +5] HQ

With the recent reissue of two UFO albums remastered many of you asked for more ‘classic UFO’. Chrysalis Records released deluxe editions (featured at 0dayrox) of Phenomenon (1974) and Force It (1975) during the las three years, but still not for following albums.
So now we have here 1976’s ”No Heavy Petting” in its ‘Japan Forever Young Series‘ edition remastered and including 5 bonus tracks, previously unreleased studio outtakes.
”No Heavy Petting” is part of the UFO Michael Schenker years. The band also added a permanent keyboardist – Danny Peyronel – providing a more melodious background. Yes, this album clearly is a precursor to more glamorous things to come like ‘Lights Out’ or ‘Obsession’ a few years later. The album also sets cornerstones as to how Hard Rock and early Heavy Metal ought to sound…

McAULEY SCHENKER GROUP – Unplugged Live [Cherry Red / Hear No Evil remaster +4]

As requested, here’s McAULEY SCHENKER GROUPUnplugged Live [Cherry Red / Hear No Evil remaster +4]“. Recorded in California during a tour with a completely acoustic set, this is the final release of the McAuley Schenker Group, which disbanded in 1993.
This Cherry Red Records remastered reissue includes as bonus tracks the complete, Japan only (out of print) mini-album “Nightmare: The Acoustic MSG”.

The album features Shark Island guitarist Spencer Sercombe on second guitar and backing vocals, while Schenker show his abilities on nylon strings as crazy as with electric guitar and McAuley’s pristine performances demonstrates why he’s one of the most underrated ’80s vocalists…

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP – Rock Will Never Die +6 [Japan Great Rock 1500 series remastered]

We have featured here all early MSG / MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP albums in remastered form, and one you can’t miss is this “Rock Will Never Die“, in this remastered reissue adding the additional 6 tracks captured at Hammersmith Odeon in London, over two nights in October 1983. Due to physical space limitation, the original LP only included 9 tracks, now the CD reissue packs the complete show.
The final track “Doctor Doctor”, which Schenker originally recorded with UFO, features a guest appearance by Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker of Scorpions.
The concert was also released in VHS, and I remember playing the tape to death. Schenker and the band – including vocalist Gary Barden, his last album recorded with MSG before he rejoined in 2008 – was really hot, plus production (Jack Douglas) and recording quality are excellent.

MICHAEL SCHENKER – Doctor, Doctor : The Kulick Sessions

”Doctor, Doctor; The Kulick Sessions” is made up of songs that influenced the career of MICHAEL SCHENKER, recorded & co-produced by Bob Kulick between 2004 / 2005 with the who’s who in Hard Rock as guest, originally planned by Schenker as a collection of covers featuring himself and a “revolving all-star cast of guest musicians”. Later the album was labeled...

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP – Assault Attack demos w/ Cozy Powell / Non album tracks

Despite Cozy Powell left the MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP prior to the recording of their 3rd album “Assault Attack”, the drummer actually started to work with Michael on the early demos. Here’s all these recordings, “Assault Attack demos” including songs that ended into the album, but also 4 unreleased tracks.
Numbers like ‘Desert Song’ or ‘Rock You To The Ground’ feature some different arrangements and of course, Schenker flies on the fretboard – he never play the same solo and each has something new and amazing.
It’s great to hear 4 songs never released, not just ideas, these are complete compositions, and all with very good sound quality, taken from a cassette belonged to Cozy Powell.
There has been many bootlegs of these recordings, however I bet you this 0dayrox version is the better.
A must for MSG / Schenker (and Cozy) fans.

Now, and accompanying the new 2021 MSG album, here’s the fourth, catchy 1983 ”Built To Destroy” featuring the return of Gary Barden as frontman, some of Schenker’s finest fretwork, and perhaps the band’s more commercial ’80s sound of all.
As bonus tracks, there’s the complete US mix of the album, fully remastered as well.

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP – Assault Attack +1 [Japan Forever Young series remastered] Out Of Print

Some months ago, as requested, we featured at 0dayrox the out of print remastered Japanese edition of MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP first two records, as part of the ‘Forever Young Series Remastered’ including bonus tracks, now out of print.
Now, and accompanying the new 2021 MSG album, we have here their third, 1982 smoking hot LP “Assault Attack”, the only album from the group to feature former Rainbow vocalist Graham Bonnet.
“Assault Attack” turned out to be one of MSG’s finest moment, a record beloved for decades not only for Schenker’s incredible playing, but the stellar songs, Bonnet’s soaring vocals and Martin Birch’s bruising production.
Perhaps, the best Michael Schenker album ever…

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP – Immortal (2021)

Celebrating his 40th anniversary as a solo artist and on his 50th birthday as a musician, legendary guitarist MICHAEL SCHENKER is returning with the indeed immortal MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP. So the album is properly titled “Immortal“, recorded by what is probably the strongest line-up of his long career.
When someone like Michael Schenker calls, they all come. You can hear the sensational voice of young hard rock sensation Ronnie Romero (Rainbow, Sunstorm), Joe Lynn Turner, Ralf Scheepers (Primal Fear), and Schenker’s loyal accomplice Michael Voss, who produced the record alongside Michael Schenker avoiding common places and delivering a punchy, biting sound.
Among the musicians we find Barry Sparks (Dokken), keyboard player Steve Mann (Lionheart), top drummers Simon Phillips (ex-Toto) and Brian Tichy (ex-Whitesnake), Gary Barden, Robin McAuley…

SILVER (Michael Voss) – Idolized [Special 2-CD Ltd Edition]

SILVER is another band from the multifaceted Michael Voss (Mad Max, Wolfpakk, Demon Drive, Casanova, Michael Schenker) who released 5 very good albums during the 2000’s. After more than a decade of silence Voss resurrected the moniker and presented the new CD “Idolized“.
This is the limited, Special 2-CD edition including as bonus disc the “Best Of Silver”.
Lovers of late ’80s / early ’90s Euro sounds from the genre in the vein of Casanova, Last Autumn’s Dream, Khymera, etc. will enjoy “Idolized” and the band’s previous, best songs.

UFO – Strangers In The Night [Remastered 8xCD Deluxe Edition] (2020)

Arguably one of the greatest hard rock live albums in history, UFO‘s 1979 “Strangers In The Night” is being reissued today as an 8-CD Deluxe package. Capturing the band at the peak of their powers the original double album was compiled from recordings made at six shows during in October 1978 on an American tour.
This new 8-CD box-set includes all six complete original concerts for the first time (five previously unreleased) as well as a newly remastered version of the original album (across two CDs). Four of the shows have actually been newly mixed from the original tapes.
The sound quality of this fresh 2020 remastering is outstanding.
Absolutely great package for those of us, who think ”Strangers In The Night” is one of the greatest live albums ever. The energy of the band and the show is really unbelievable. Michael Schenker was amazing on these recordings, just the perfect…

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP – MSG (2nd album) +7 [Japan Forever Young series remastered] Out Of Print

Here’s another requested remastered Japanese edition of MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP excellent second album “MSG” (1981), as part of the Warner Music Japan ‘Forever Young Series Remastered’ including 7 bonus tracks, now out of print.
The high production values by one of my favorite twiddlers – Ron Nevison – resulted in one of the most polished Mr. Schenker albums ever. “MSG” is regarded by fans as perhaps the group’s finest hour with killer tracks such as ‘Ready To Rock’, ‘Never Trust A Stranger’ and the timeless classic ‘On And On’.
We didn’t like the Euro / American remastered version of “MSG” (it should be the CD pressing quality, resulting in a muddy sound) so this Japanese ‘‘Forever Young Series’ is the obvious choice and makes a difference.
