ALCATRAZZ – The Official Bootleg Box Set Vol. 2 (1983-1984) (2022)

Cherry Red / Hear No Evil are releasing “ALCATRAZZ ; The Official Bootleg Box Set Vol. 2 (1983-1984)“, the second box of unreleased live recordings by the band featuring Graham Bonnet & Yngwie Malmsteen.
Kicking off at the Golden Bear in Huntingdon Beach, California, in December 1983, Disc 1 features a healthy selection of songs from Alcatrazz’s debut. A Japanese tour was booked for early 1984, from which the Osaka date on 24th January 1984 was recorded at the Festival Hall, included here on Disc 2.
Disc 3 features a set recorded at Graham Central Station in Albuquerque in New Mexico. Highlights are ‘Too Young To Die… Too Drunk To Live’.
The Agora Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio, had long been an important mid-west venue for touring rock bands in the 1970s and 1980s, so the band were guaranteed a warm welcome for their show there on 23rd May 1984, reproduced here on Disc 4.
This collection concludes with Disc 5’s gig on 8th June 1984 at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey. As an extra bonus, CD5 finishes with an interview originally released as a single promo B-Side, a Public Service Announcement from Graham, warning against drunk driving, plus three instrumental demo tracks…

TAZ TAYLOR BAND (feat Graham Bonnet, Doogie White, Mark Boals) – Nocturnal (2022)

“Nocturnal” is the new TAZ TAYLOR BAND album where the guitarist continues with his delivery of classy British style melodic heavy rock. Fans of Michael Schenker, UFO and Gary Moore will find a lot to like here, with a stunning line up of world class vocalists and a core band that have been together now for 2 decades.
One notable guest is Graham Bonnet – there had been little communication between the two men since 2008 [Bonnet recorded the 2006 debut TTB album ‘Welcome To America’ with Taz] but once they were back in touch, a new song ‘The Accidental Tourist’ was soon in the can.
Powerful shouter David Reece contributes vocals to three songs on the album. Outloud’s Chandler Mogel (previously heard on TTB album ‘Pressure And Time’) makes an appearance on the song ‘Blue’.
Taz also reached out to long time acquaintances Doogie White and Mark Boals who also feature prominently on the album. Mark turned in phenomenal performances on three songs and Doogie showed a slightly different side to his huge vocal talent on the song ‘Raw Nerve’…

TAZ TAYLOR BAND feat. Graham Bonnet – Welcome To America [2022 reissue +1] HQ

Guitarist Taz Taylor, already familiar to many in the hard rock world via his previous albums featuring renowned vocalists, has signed a deal with Global Rock Records for the release of the upcoming TAZ TAYLOR BAND new CD next month. The label is also re-issuing Taz Taylor Band’s back catalog starting with “Welcome To America”, previously appeared in 2006 via Escape Music.
For “Welcome To America“, Taz asked former Rainbow, Michael Schenker Group, Alcatrazz, Impelliteri, singer Graham Bonnet – at the time not so much active in the business – if he will sing the songs on this album. Bonnet not only agreed, but co-write many songs, and the result was rocking collection of classic hard rock tunes reminiscent of MSG ‘Assault Attack’ era with a pinch of Rainbow’s ‘Down To Earth’ and UFO.
This 2022 reissue includes a bonus track.
