JEFFERSON STARSHIP – Freedom At Point Zero [Friday Music Deluxe Edition remastered +1]

Here’s another request; JEFFERSON STARSHIP and their double pack Freedom At Point Zero + Winds Of Change remastered by Friday Music. “Freedom At Point Zero” is Jefferson Starship’s first album with new and awesome lead singer Mickey Thomas.
After both original vocalists Marty Balin and Grace Slick left the band the prior year, Jefferson Starship recruited the great Mickey Thomas starting a new melodic chapter for the band. Apart from Thomas, Aynsley Dunbar plays drums on “Freedom At Point Zero”; he had left Journey the previous year.
When did the roots of AOR (that’s Adult Orientated Rock) actually take hold? Students and critics have spent many a conversation pouring over this conundrum but the general consensus of opinion tends to agree on two years, two bands and two songs. The year was 1978 and 1979, the bands were Toto and Jefferson Starship and the tracks, respectively, were ‘Hold The Line’ and ‘Jane’, both huge international hits that cast…

JEFFERSON STARSHIP – Winds Of Change [Friday Music Deluxe Edition remastered]

Here’s another request: JEFFERSON STARSHIP and their double pack release ”Freedom At Point Zero + Winds Of Change” remastered by Friday Music. The long time out of print “Winds Of Change” has received a pristine sound treatment, the best version of this album you can find out there.
“Winds Of Change” marks the return of Grace Slick, sharing the lead vocal duties with Mickey Thomas.
Produced by Kevin Beamish (REO Speedwagon’s No. 1 album Hi Infidelity), this is the first album by Jefferson Starship to embrace the true American AOR sound from the early ’80s, at places not far from REO Speedwagon indeed, but also early Journey and alike.
However, Jefferson Starship still retains its trademark songwriting and arrangements that made them so special…

JEFFERSON STARSHIP – Mother Of The Sun (2020)

Legends JEFFERSON STARSHIP are back with “Mother Of The Sun“, their first record in 12 years. While the band keep touring all that time, after the death of co-founder Paul Kantner in 2016 they decided to not record anymore.
However, Kantner’s family gave the band their blessing to continue on, and former lead vocalist / co-founder Grace Slick also agreed, and licensed the rights for them to retain the Jefferson Starship name. More than that, she co-wrote one song for this new album, and ex J. Starship Marty Balin co-wrote other. To complete the picture, original Jefferson Starship member Pete Sears plays bass on three tracks.
So this is a true JEFFERSON STARSHIP, and in top form, delivering a bunch of wonderful, melodic, classic rock songs wrapped by a crisp production.
