ULF LAGESTAM (feat Mats Karlsson) – Revelation (2020)
A gifted songwriter & guitarist, ULF LAGESTAM played in the Swedish rock circuit since his teens while studying music. He made many friends, among them Mats Karlsson (220 Volt) who co-writes and sung on a couple of tracks of Ulf’s new album “Revelation” released at the end of 2020.
Lagestam’s music is inspired by ’80s melodic hard rock, the type unmistakably Scandinavian. The riffs, the melodies, the solos, the use of keyboards, etc, bring to mind Goran Edman’s Madison, early Europe, Glory, some Takara and of course 220 Volt, all recorded with an updated production.
There’s 5 vocalists performing -including Karlsson- and providing variation, and one wonders how many terrific Rock singers live there in Sweden now…
