SHAKRA – 33 ; The Best Of (2014)

SHAKRA - 33 ; The Best Of (2014) 2 CD full

*

Swiss hard rockers SHAKRA are one of the most constant forces of the European scene, with a solid career started in the mid – ’90s and nine studio albums under their belt.
“33 ; The Best Of” includes 30 Shakra highlights taken from the band’s catalogue and on top of that, 3 brand new and unreleased tracks of finest quality which easily can stand among the band’s best songs.

Even two changes on the vocalist position (John Prakesh leave off the band two weeks ago) couldn’t do any harm to the steadily increasing success of Shakra.
In fact, quite the contrary: Shakra’s latest album ‘Powerplay’ (2013) was their first ever to crest the #1 position on Switzerland’s album chart and chart entries in other countries followed as well.
The three new songs are strong rockers, really melodic and with a slightly ‘Swedish’ feel, especially the anthemic “Live For Today”, quite H.E.A.T sounding if you ask me.

Among the collection we have as well remixed versions of “Take Me Now” and “Chains Of Temptation”, and two songs taken from the long out-of-print live release ‘The Live Side’.
“33 ; The Best Of” is a great compilation from one of the most underrated Melodic Hard Rock acts from the present European scene. This digipak double CD is your opportunity to discover Shakra in its full force.
Quite Recommended.
