THUNDER – All You Can Eat (2016)
British hard rock legends THUNDER have released a three-disc package called “All You Can Eat” – showcasing the band’s comeback album Wonder Days, which was issued last year and went on to enjoy commercial success – appearing before their February 2016 UK arena tour.
Documenting the story of the band’s latest album Wonder Days, the set will include a live album recorded at The Brooklyn Bowl, a live in-studio session recorded at RAK Studio 1 in a single take, and a documentary film featuring the band talking about the recording of the album as well as further live clips.
The disc featuring the The Brooklyn Bowl show rocks with the usual Thunder hot live stage sound, but for me the highlight here is the recording into the studio (in one take, no overdubs) called ‘Live RAK Studio 1’.
The band sounds powerful and lively on ‘Live RAK Studio 1’, without the reverb and crowd noises typical from live albums. This is a pure, hot blooded performance with many tracks, in my opinion, resulting better than the original CD versions.
Strongly Recommended.
