THINK OUT LOUD – Think Out Loud [YesterRock remaster]

Another little gem quite unknown outside AOR circles is the self-titled debut of THINK OUT LOUD, remastered for the first time and released by YesterRock Records.
A studio project, Think Out Loud comprised the talents of superb singer and his Australian friend Steve Kipner, best known for his work as songwriter of countless hits for renowned acts and famous movie soundtracks.

After his excellent group Player disbanded, during 1982-88 Peter Beckett moved in the same path as Steve Kipner, turning his main concentration on songwriting for other major artists such as Heart, Survivor and Janet Jackson, to name a few.
Think Out Loud started out as a collaboration between both, first writing songs together, and later deciding to record them by themselves: Think Out Loud born.
Signed by A&M Records, the self-titled debut produced by Beckett, Kipner and Humberto Garcia was released in 1988.

As you could imagine this is primo ’80s AOR with some smooth Westcoast melodies, and the duo utilised the cream of session cats including Steve Lukather (Toto), Paul Jackson (Pages), Michael Landau (Steve Perry, Robin Beck), Bob Marlette (Alice Cooper), etc.
Among the highlights we have opener ‘In A Perfect World’, the lovely ‘Raise You Up’, ‘Stranger Things Have Happened’, ‘The Deep End’ and the smooth ‘In No Uncertain Terms’.
‘Original Sin (Jumpin’ In)’ was used on the movie soundtrack from Cocktail, starring Tom Cruise.

With a pristine and immaculate sound & style, “Think Out Loud” is an absolute must for fans of quality AOR / Westcoast and ’80s movie soundtracks. Think about Planet 3 / Jay Graydon, Toto and of course Player, but also Clif Magness, Giant, Chicago, etc.
For years “Think Out Loud” remained out of print and painfully hard to track down. Thanks to this crystal-clear remastered reissue this little gem is now available again for a reasonable price.
