As requested, here’s BONNIE TYLERSecret Dreams And Forbidden Fire” album in its Japanese remastered edition. This was a Limited Release in Cardboard Sleeve / miniLP format, now out of print and with used copies sold for over $150.
Originally appeared in 1986 after three years in the making, you can tell why it took so long: it’s that kind of overblown production – handled by by Jim Steinman – where everything sounds huge and polished to detail that only could have been coasted by a major label.
“Secret Dreams And Forbidden Fire” it’s a true product of ’80s: read ‘bombast‘ to the extreme.

“Secret Dreams And Forbidden Fire” spawn the incredibly number of 7 singles out of 9 tracks contained into the album (most of them successful world-wide) with the smash ‘Holding Out for a Hero’ originally being released two years ahead in the Footloose soundtrack.

Steinman was the real brain behind the disc, but features external songwiting collaborations from the likes of Desmond Child – my favorite ‘If You Were a Woman (And I Was a Man)’ and ‘Lovers Again’ – and terrific Canadian team Bryan Adams / Jim Vallance with ‘No Way to Treat a Lady’.

If you want an album that truly depicts a portrait of ’80s pomposity, search no more; Bonnie Tyler’s “Secret Dreams And Forbidden Fire” it’s the perfect example.
Huge banks of synthesizers, layers and more layers of percussion, dramatic vocals and choruses; everything is BIG here.
Very hard to find and with a superb remastering job, this Japanese Ltd Edition includes as bonus the excellent ‘Holding Out For A Hero / Jellybean Club Mix’, one of my favorite extended version form the era.
Highly Recommended
