B.E. TAYLOR GROUP – Our World [YesterRock digitally remastered]

B.E. TAYLOR GROUP - Our World [YesterRock remaster] full

Fronted by vocalist William (Billy) Edward Taylor, the B.E. TAYLOR GROUP enjoyed considerable success in the US East Coast during the first half of the Eighties. After two albums for MCA in a melodic radio-rock style, Billy and his group changed company (Epic) and musical orientation for this “Our World“, according to the American AOR waves of the year of its release (1986).
Despite its quality, “Our World” never was released on CD and several bootlegs appeared to satisfy fans and collector’s thirst. Fortunately, great reissue label YesterRock in association with Sony Music Germany digitally remastered “Our World” for us all to enjoy.

With a voice like a mix between the ‘first’ Michael Bolton (when he used to be a rocker) and Steve Perry post Journey, B.E. Taylor delivers some serious AOR melodies on “Our World”.
Also packed with interesting lyrics and a solid backing band (including members of cult hard rockers Crack The Sky), the album is a pure delight.

Just check the typically ’80s opener “The Fire’s Gone” (which reminds me Tim Feehan) and you’re in love with this album. The pumping “Question of Love” follows, and together with the title track all are a true AOR paradise.
More quality is found in “Take Me To Your Heart”, “Girl In The Know”, or the sweet midtempo ballad “Karen”, a little hit song in the singles charts.

RICHIE KOTZEN - I'm Coming Out (2011)tracks

First time released on CD / remastered, B.E. Taylor Group’s “Our World” is a must for American ’80s AOR fans, but also for listeners inclined for more timeless sounds as the album does not feels dated at all.
The excellent YesterRock remastering really does justice to these lovely bunch of songs.
