Sweden, Karlskoga Melodic Rock / AOR act EDGE released a very nice album back in 2012/13 titled ‘Heaven Knows’. Now with the band re-branded EDGE B.S., they are reissuing the album fully remastered, re-titled “Heaven Still Knows“, featuring new artwork, and a previously unreleased track.
Put together by vocalist / guitarist Jonas Forss and keyboardist/guitarist Tobias Andersson, two good friends who’ve been playing on and off in bands together since the mid 1990s, EDGE B.S. music exude class songwriting, strong hook skills and multi part, engaging vocal harmonies that are expected to be near the top of this genre.

The shimmering electric guitar work in “I Believe in Love” combines the early ’90s Heart sound with Scandinavian nuances, while the rhythm section in the follow up “There Is No Other Way” keeps this slow building number in the Journey pocket.
Jonas’ vocal delivery will not be mistaken for Steve Perry or Jimi Jamison, but it’s a comfortable sound with a warm mid-range that brings home memorable tracks like “How Long” and the FM-like “Through That Door”.

Edge keep the guitars a little heavier than most melodic rock artists, adding a shredding element to some of the lead breaks within “Little Girl” and “Nowhere to Hide” that will appeal those listeners more into Melodic Hard Rock… with ‘edge’.
The ballad “Get Over It” is a duet with female guest singer Martina Edoff where she and Jonas trade-off verses and come together for key melody emphasis, and her powerhouse highs give the song more dramatics.

“Heaven Knows” is a lovable debut by Edge plenty of traditional Melodic Rock hooks and sounds, produced in the old fashioned ’80s way. Tobias’ songwriting and the band’s playing skills are on par with the better bands in the genre treading the boards in today’s scene.
The good thing with this album is that you can listen to it again & again without getting bored as it flows greatly and has a nice vibe overall.
I almost forgot to say that Tommy Denander plays the solo on “How Long” and as always he provides an ‘extra touch’.
Highly Recommended
