KISS – Off The Soundboard Tokyo Dome 2001 [Glenburn Remix] (2022)
“Off The Soundboard Tokyo Dome 2001”, the new official “bootleg” live series for KISS, was released by the band together with UMe / Mercury last year. The album features KISS’ epic performance at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan on March 13, 2001, taken from the band’s vault of soundboard recordings, featuring Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Singer and Ace Frehley.
But the release includes all the interaction with the audience, Paul’s long introduction to the songs, etc, so now we have here the “Off The Soundboard Tokyo Dome 2001 [Glenburn Remix]“, which trims the original 2 hours and 10 minutes down to 1 hour and 38 minutes, and makes it much easier and enjoyable to listen to. Just the songs, in the ‘Alive’ albums fashion.
Of course this ‘Glenburn Remix’ is a bootleg but works wonderfully, source taken from the original lossless files. Additionally, the sound quality has been improved as well.
Tokyo has always held a special place of importance throughout the KISStory of the band and ‘Off The Soundboard: Tokyo 2001’ captures KISS giving the packed 55,000 seat venue the quintessential KISS live experience with such classic anthems as “I Was Made for Lovin’ You,” “Heaven’s On Fire,” “Rock & Roll All Night” and the #7 1976 Billboard hit “Detroit Rock City”.
