We featured in exclusive the two Wild Boyz albums remastered by Demon Doll Records, and to complete the circle here’s their release of DORIAN GRAY‘s “Dangerous!“. Dorian Gray which was the initial Hollywood concept that would eventually become the Wild Boyz, founded by bass player Joey Wylde and drummer / songwriter K. Lee Lauren.
They operated as DORIAN GRAY during 1986-1988, and according to the era the band’s style was polished melodic hard rock with a strong, polished American AOR sound. Dorian Gray’s sound here is reminiscent of Icon’s ‘Night Of The Crime’ era, including that lovely keyboard arrangements, full band involvement on the layered choruses, and clean atmospheric electric guitar parts.
All the tracks here were recorded at various studios throughout the L.A. area, very well produced.

Whether it was The Whisky A Go-Go, The Roxy or Gazzarri’s, DORIAN GRAY always left the fans wanting more and the time has finally come to rejoice in the album you never thought you’d hear.
DDR Music Group and K. Lee Lauren have teamed up to blow the doors of the vault some 30 plus years later and unleash 8 tracks chock full of Hollywood ’80s melodic glammy hard rock that brings you right to heart of the Sunset Strip.

There is no denying the boys we were in it to win it, big hair, huge hooks, dirty looks and pop laden anthems lead the way on “Dangerous!”
Sink your teeth into the opening track “Could This Be Love” and you’ll know you’re in the city of angels. Rise up to rock on the killer cuts “Dangerous”, “Girl”, and the crowd favorite “Vanity”.

Despite of being managed by themselves but produced / recorded by pro engineers, the sound quality here is very good, as are the songwriting and performances. These are tracks DORIAN GRAY recorded for shopping record labels and while some were interested, internal troubles dissolved the band.
Highly Recommended (contributors get lossless today)
