STEVEN PATRICK (Holy Soldier) – Red Reign [FnA Records Remastered +1] (2022) HQ *Exclusive*

As requested, here’s the 1995 debut solo album ”Red Reign” from former HOLY SOLDIER lead vocalist STEVEN PATRICK, reissued on November 1, 2022 remastered for the first time by FnA Records and including a bonus track. The sound obtained with this fresh remastering is amazing compared with the original CD.
As a member of HOLY SOLDIER, Steven co-wrote the song “Stranger” which went to number one on Christian Rock Radio, and the song, “Last Train,” which peaked at number two. He has also appeared on MTV, and has toured the US and abroad, playing clubs, auditoriums, and arenas.
Steven was endowed early on with a vivid imagination and ability for words, combined with a rhythmic, and authentic, dynamic for style and melody. It has been said that Steven’s songwriting, while unique, is reflective of the classic songwriters of the 70s & 80s.
This is timeless US melodic rock focused on Steven’s smooth voice (he also play guitar here) and melody-drenched songs…

RATTLESHAKE – RattleShake ’89 (Eonian Records / Previously Unreleased) *HQ*

RATTLESHAKE was a San Fransisco Bay Area band with their eyes on the hair metal prize that emerged on the scene when unfortunately it was too late for any band with some kind of showmanship to make an impact, and suffered the infamous Wrath of Seattle.
In 1989, they got into the Bay View Studios, Richmond, to record part of their material, produced by Rob Beaton (Guns ‘N Roses, Sammy Hagar, Santana). But all these professional studio takes remained unreleased until Eonian Records finally released this gem.
Rattleshake” includes seven straight ’80s melodic hard rock tunes with big, gang styled backing vocals, the right amount of hooks, a rhythmic back bone that pushes the band express forward, and some serious axe slinging from the duo of Freseman and Longo. Singer Don McBee has a raspy style sounding not unlike a mix between Jeff Keith (Tesla), Drew Hannah (Wildside) and Steven DeLong (Sweet FA).
So expect to hear in “Rattleshake” the classic elements and sound of the late Eighties, very well composed, performed and produced.

BLACK CAT MOAN – Departure (2023)

Based in Stockholm, BLACK CAT MOAN debuted in 1991 with the self-titled album ‘Black Cat Moan’, which was received enthusiastically with its bluesy hard rock inspired by ’70s Aerosmith, Great White, some Tesla, etc. The sessions for a second album started next year but due to the bankruptcy of their record label, those recordings were never completed. The band tried to continue for a while, but eventually fell apart.
After 31 years finally that successor sees the light of day, titled ”Departure”, recorded by original members Lars ‘Axelsson’ Isaksson (vocals), Jörgen Lantto (guitar, bass) and Bo Åström (drums).
BLACK CAT MOAN rocks mercilessly with a late Seventies arena-rock attack, and since opener ‘Crash’ the guys go to the bone. A fierce dirty hard rocker in which the snarling vocals quickly remind of Axl Rose, the punchy rhytm section move your skeleton and there’s a biting guitar work…

RAZORMAID (pre Bangalore Choir) – First Cutt [remastered reissue] *HQ*

Likely a fairly unknown album to many, RAZORMAID’s sole record, 1987’s ”First Cutt”, is a pretty fantastic slice of late ’80s American glam metal / melodic hard. Take the Dokken atmopheres, the punchy riffs of early Icon, and some melodies from Lillian Axe, and we have RAZORMAID’s sound.
Founded by future Bangalore Choir guitarists Curt Mitchell & John Kirk, ”First Cutt” is aof course a guitar driven album plenty or catchy riff, arpeggios ans solos, but also catchiness, commanded by the sexy voice of Jim “Jamie Lee” Garrett. Vocally Jamie Lee has a strong bit of Don Dokken going on, mainly on the high notes where he channels quite a lot of the classic vocalist.
This is the remastered reissue of ”First Cutt”, correcting the bass presence which was originally less audible, and overall making the whole thing suited for modern media players…

LEAFLET – Something Beyond (2023)

Something Beyond” is the second album from Finland’s LEAFLET, a young band showing that true rock music is alive and pumping. The album is full of catchy metal / hard rock tunes that would fit perfectly in your classic rock collection, updated in sound & production.
This four-piece infuse to their music an American style modern hard rock sound with Scandinavian nuances. It’s often a challenge to take influences from the past to remain relevant in an ever-evolving music market – these gentlemen sprinkle in guitar-driven material with the right soulful, passionate vocal melodies/harmonies that keep people moving along, taking the energy of the 80’s/early 90’s into the current century.
The electricity pulsating from the main chord progressions and complementary..

SAKER – Saker [Retrospect Records remastered release]

SAKER was formed in the ’80s by guitarist Dave Saker (RIP) – who later formed Bad Boy Eddy releasing some cool albums – recorded several tracks between its existence between 1991-1996. Hailing from the Bay Area, SAKER went through varied styles – Melodic Rock / AOR in their origins similar to House of Lords, LA. Rocks, After Hours, Icon (‘Right Between The Eyes’ album), to more hard rock later.
While Saker released a cassette by themselves the group never properly got their material published, until Retrospect Records compiled the all the band recordings into CD.
There’s three different singers on these tapes, and as said, different sonic approach. We prefer the first 6 tracks from 1991, all killer AOR/MR tunes with very good playing, arrangements, and execution.
If properly released and promoted, songs like ‘Cry Out’, ‘Passion Spin’, ‘Edge Of Love’ or ‘Spell On Me’ – all complete with melodic riffs, keyboard splashes, cool choruses and strong lead vocals – could easily have been hits on MTV…

BACK ALLEY SALLY – Back Alley Sally [Demon Doll Records remastered] *Exclusive*

After more than two decades, BACK ALLEY SALLY finally got digitally remastered their one and only self-titled rockin’ album, originally released in a time when this type of music was almost profane. Back in 1995, vocalist Mark Stone, guitarist Michael Sexton and drummer Martin Gaboury didn’t care about the depressive rock sounds ruling the airwaves. Their motto was dirty, Sunset Strip fun hard rock like it used to be in L.A. circa 1988, and founded Back Alley Sally in 1993.
The boys certainly brought some serious piss and vinegar to the gritty streets Hollywood, and managed to get a strong fan base faithful to the fun rock n’ roll days.
Mixing classic bluesy hard rock riffs with the swagger of bands such as Salty Dog, Rock City Angels, Junkyard and a bit of Motley Crue, Back Alley Sally recorded their self-titled debut in 1995, released via the small label Big Bang Records.
Kick ass rockers like…

WANTED – Over The Top [Demon Doll Records remastered + Bonus Tracks] *HQ*

As requested, here’s the Demon Doll & Metal Legacy Records remastered reissue of early ’90s Scandinavian Hard Rockers WANTED and their smokin’ debut album “Over The Top”, including 3 bonus tracks.
The album’s title doesn’t make justice to the music inside… these guys can flat out play! The guitar work of Eric Piscatella is top class and the entire band oozes with the confidence of such Hard Rock acts as Extreme and early Van Halen.
If you’re in the mood for a little head banging, crank up the heat with the bad boy rockers “Suzie”, “Crucial” and “Long Legs” and feel the temperature rise. The boys also hit the mark with the ballad “Love Me Tonight” as well as the groove infested “Angel”. There is definitely a little bit of everything on this album for every Hard Rock and Glam Metal fan to enjoy.
Finely produced – TNT’s Ronni Le Tekro & Morty Black helped a bit – this is highly recommended listening, and while ”Over The Top” was also released in Japan back in 1993, this is an unknown band by many, which really worth to discover…

DON DOKKEN – Breakin’ The Chains [Original European Recording] *0dayrox own rip EXCLUSIVE*

Before the American debut LP ‘Breaking The Chains’ in 1983, DOKKEN originally released the disc on 1981 in Europe only on the French label Carrere Records, and titled “Breakin’ the Chains” (no ‘g’). This is the original European recording only available on vinyl LP. We have done our ‘own cleaning’ on this excellent rip, free of noises, so I doubt you’ll find a better sounding version out there.
Dokken made it big in the US scene with their second album, but the band already released a 1983 debut with Elektra Records titled ‘Breaking The Chains’ before, with moderate success / sales.
Don Dokken and the guys spent many years in the underground before the breakthrough, and among their activities, there was an early version of “Breakin’ the Chains” recorded and released in Europe.
Don started his career in the Seventies as part of many bands…

BRASS KITTEN – Across America [Demon Doll Records remaster + Bonus Track] *HQ* Exclusive

Titled “Across America“, the album was finally released 2001-2002. Out of print, Demon Doll Records has made their own remaster, new artwork and added a previously unreleased track as bonus.
If you are a fan of early melodic Skid Row and Bon Jovi, Brass Kitten definitely checks off a few boxes in that direction. Jam packed with everything a Hair Metal fan could ever want, this delicious gem opens up in the “Crossfire” and doesn’t let you out until the final notes of the never before released bonus track “Time To Say It’s Over.”…

BRASS KITTEN – E-Z ‘N’ Pretty [Demon Doll Records remastered] *HQ* Exclusive

As requested, here’s in exclusive American glam rockers BRASS KITTEN first 1990’s album “E-Z ‘N’ Pretty“, officially been reissued by Demon Doll and Metal Legacy Records – another Hair Metal gem ‘Uncovered, Rediscovered, Restored & Remastered‘.
And if we speak of hair metal, a gem it truly is, BRASS KITTEN brings the hammer to the party and throws it down with reckless abandon bringing us all back to the perfect sound of the late 80s and early 90s. From the opening harmonies of “On The Run”, to the guitar riff laden title track “E-Z ‘N’ Pretty’ to the earth rattling double bass drums on “Lies” – this album flat out kicks some serious tail.
A very good, fun band that left a great legacy and an amazing debut record that finally gets it’s very long awaited reissue to sit proudly in your collection next to the Vinnie Vincent Invasion, Skid Row and Ratt albums where it firmly belongs.

THE RUNAWAY WILD – The Runaway Wild (2023)

THE RUNAWAY WILD is the new solo project by singer/songwriter Jon Siejka, formed in Long Island, NY in 2021. Siejka isn’t a stranger to these pages, as he is the leader of MAGIG DANCE, the terrific AOR/pop/synth band whom delivered some wonderful albums.
According to Siejka, this debut album completely sums up THE RUNAWAY WILD and therefore does not need another title. ”It’s a mix of everything I love – synthwave… 80’s melodic rock… Horror soundtracks… and sprinkled with some glam metal on top!”
“The Runaway Wild” sound combines the slick production aesthetics of ’80s inspired synthwave with the energy and passion of melodic rock and AOR music. Lyrical themes draw on the darker edge of 80s music and pop culture, leaning heavily on horror and fantasy films of the decade, giving the music a ‘soundtrack’ touch. As proof, listed as bonus tracks we find ‘Mighty Wings (Top Gun movie / Cheap Trick cover), and a version of Cutting Crew classic ‘(I Just) Died In Your Arms’.
Siejka are the star here, pure Eighties style, but also the keyboard runs and guitar solos…

WARRANT – Dive Right In [The 1991 Tokyo Broadcast] (2023)

Titled “Dive Right In“, this is the WARRANT performance at Nakano Sun Plaza Hall, Tokyo, Japan, 1991, now released by Bullhorn Records. Of course this is a bootleg, however the sound quality is pretty good as the show got radio broadcast and a pro-shot video was done. Some versions of this concert appeared before, but this is the complete 1 and half hour set-list.
Warrant performs their best songs here, energetic and plenty of fun, with the band at the top of its game. Jani Lane is on fire, there’s cool solos, and a good bass / drum sound captured.
RIP Jani, one of the greatest exponents from the Hair Metal era…

THIN LIZZY – Live And Dangerous [Super Deluxe Edition Remastered Box Set 8-CD] (2023)

THIN LIZZY‘s ”Live And Dangerous” was released in 1978 and is arguably one of the best live albums of all time. It was recorded in London and Toronto in 1977, during the tours accompanying the albums Johnny the Fox and Bad Reputation.
Live and Dangerous was originally intended to be a studio album. Working with producer Tony Visconti, Thin Lizzy had had huge success with their previous album Bad Reputation, and the group wanted to work with him again. But since Visconti had a very tight schedule Phil Lynott came up with the idea that they spend two weeks together compiling a live album instead.
This new ”Live And Dangerous [Super Deluxe Edition Remastered Box Set 8-CD]” is the definitive version of the album, containing all the shows that make up the record newly mixed by Ben Findlay from the original multi-tracks, mastered by Andy Pearce and overseen by living legend guitarist Scott Gorham…
