OXIDO – Breaking Down The Walls [remastered reissue] (2023) *HQ*
This is just another really nice surprise by the interesting Italian reissue label Minotauro: “Breaking Down The Walls“, the 1990 album from melodic rockers OXIDO. Often mistaken for being an Italian band, Oxido were in fact a predominantly Swiss outfit. The Italian connection comes courtesy of their guitarist Tank Palmer (real name Tancredi Palamara), who has also spent time with another Swiss band “Forsale”, which featured future “Gotthard” vocalist Steve Lee.
OXIDO (means ‘Rust’) music is late ’80s European melodic rock with a strong AOR feeling, taking influenced from the Scandinavian and German style from the genre. Read melodic riffs, keys galore and catchiness in choruses and refrains.
“Breaking Down The Walls” was released by major label Mercury, however the album becane hard to find because Oxido disbanded soon (most member formed the great outfit GunShy later) hence the CD never was re-printed.
Fortunately now we have this remastered official reissue to enjoy this fine slice of late 80s AOR / Melodic Rock music.
