CAIRO – Nemesis (2023)
British five-piece band CAIRO are being marketed as progressive rock, but their music is much more than that, as heard in their upcoming album “Nemesis“. This new work taps into contemporary global concerns and demonstrates the band’s impressive, genre-defying approach with menacing, angular riffs, melodic rock hooks and electronic soundscapes that all beautifully complement their powerful and emotive vocals.
In this exciting and purposefully eclectic album; the band venture into progressive territory on some dynamic, moving epics, but there are also some exciting departures into more melodic rock areas with ‘The Love’ , the slow ‘Glow’, and upbeat banger with ‘Jumping On The Moon’.
The album also features a short keys-based orchestral instrumental, ‘Save The Earth’, which doffs a cap to the likes of the sadly, departed Vangelis, and acts as a prologue into the title track. Artwork is by Paul Tippett (Europe, Inglorious, Uriah Heep).
