LILIAC – Madness (2023)
Hard rock / heavy metal LILIAC is a family-band hailing from Los Angeles, California. There’s something incredibly special about them, besides their killer musical skills; these siblings are all between very young. Initially coming to the attention of the music buying public through their jaw dropping cover versions of classic metal songs, the band gained legions of new fans each day with the strength of their original material.
Well, 2023 the five siblings are not kids anymore, they’re a serious business band, and according to that, they have modernized their sound for new album “Madness“.
Lead vocalist, Melody, isn’t the female version of Ronnie James Dio we heard in the past performing a cover ‘Rainbow in the Dark’. She now sounds darker, mature. In fact, overall, this new LILIAC sounds more like Halestom – modern, punchy. The ‘metal vibe’ is still there, just modernized.
This new LILIAC sonic delivery has, without a doubt, a wider appeal. And while we miss the old-school sound, this is a logical step for the band. “Madness” is benefited by its concise, impactul songs, all around the 3-minute mark.
A good, 34-minute modern rocking album, to the point. Try it.
