Released shortly after their impressive debut album ‘Vices’, WAYSTED recorded this mini-LP simply titled ‘Waysted’ in 1983 and released a year after. For many fans fans of the band and hard rock aficionados in general, this is the best Waysted: raw, heavy, in your face.
Pete Way’s formed bandmate in UFO Andy Parker recorded the drums here, and the overall feeling on these tracks is ‘hard rock from the guts’. ‘Won’t Get Out Alive just kills, there’s an anthem on ‘The Price You Pay’, and a huge groove on ‘Rock Steady’.
Now Cherry Red Records is releasing a much need remaster of ‘Waysted’, creating a “Waysted (Cherry Red Records Expanded Edition)” with the addition of a live set taped at St. David’s Hall, Cardiff, 1984. Sound quality is very good, showcasing the rawness and punchy attack of this Waysted 1984.
