LORD TRACY – Live 1989 [Official release] *HQ*
With the remastered reissue of LORD TRACY first album 1989’s ‘Deaf Gods Of Babylon’ featured today here, you need to hear as well the band’s 2004 self-release of this “Live 1989” CD, recorded at The Basement, Dallas, Texas, December 22, 1989, captured at the group’s peak while touring presenting the debut LP.
On this complete show, LORD TRACY performs many of the songs from ‘Deaf Gods Of Babylon’, as well as other killer tunes. “Live 1989” puts clear this band was a rollin’ rockin’ machine, hot n’ sweaty. Sound quality is very good.
This is straight from the amp guitar driven American bluesy hard rock: no-frills rock n’ rock to bang your head all day (and night).
As said, the recording was really well done by famed engineer / producer Danny Brown. Terry Glaze’s voice sounds great. His fellow musicians are nothing to sneeze at either; the great ‘Barney’ Wolfe (ex Black Oak Arkansas, The Cult, Jack Ingram) on bass, and Jimmy R on guitar dropping some swirling bluesy solos.
Terry’s short rants between songs make for some fun intros, other highlights are “Barney’s Bass Solo”, which is mind-altering, also their hit “Out with the Boys” and the classic metallic “Piranha”. The CD is packed with 17 tracks of pure fun.
“Live” is a perfect representation of Lord Tracy, it absolutely captures the essence of what they really were; a great live band.
