CIRCLES OF ILLUSION – Lionheart (2024) *HQ*
Wegard Golebiowski was born 30th of July 1984 in Telemark, Norway. He started early, 11 years old, playing the guitar and composing songs. Golebiowski was considered a huge talent at the age of 16 and has been involved with different bands and projects since then.
CIRCLES OF ILLUSION was formed in the early 2000’s as a solo project, but developed into a band, releasing their first self-titled album four years ago.
Now Golebiowski is back with CIRCLES OF ILLUSION’s sophomore effort “Lionheart“, and wow, it’s big step forward for sure: on lead vocals there’s Mark Boals (Ring of Fire, ex-Royal Hunt, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen), while on drums John Macaluso (ex-ARK, ex-TNT) – two ‘pros’ from the hard rock / metal genre giving this band / album a plus.
The group is completed with Magnuns Ostvang (ex-Ram-Zet) on keyboards, while Golebiowski handles guitars, bass, and produced the whole thing, obtaining a powerful, vibrant, melodic album.
“Lionheart” is melodic hard rock / melodic metal with a progressive touch on some songs, all with a late ’80s / early 90s influence: read Axel Rudi Pell, 1988-1990 Yngwie, Royal Hunt, TNT, etc. All songs are very strong, and this is easily the best singing from Boals we heard in a long time. Of course Macaluso is awesome, and Golebiowski is a talented axeman both in rhythm and solo guitars.
