KILMARA - Journey To The Sun (2025) *HQ* - full
HERE

KILMARA is a curious band: they mix power metal – the kind of catchy, accessible, commercial power metal as we know the genre today, with ’80s AOR flurries, especially with the use of synths in the current ‘synthwave’ style. and that’s a welcomed fusion, and the band’s upcoming new album “Journey To The Sun” sounds like no-other.
The concept of ”Journey To The Sun” is set in the arcade halls of the late ’80s, where first love, unbreakable friendships, rivalries, defeats and victory celebrations took place. KILMARA take up the baton as heirs to the new power metal heroes and bring back the singer of the legendary and sorely missed Swedish band Lost Horizon, Daniel Heiman – one of the best voices the genre has produced and who will undoubtedly blow you away with his appearance as special guest on ‘Take Me Back’.
It’s always fun seeing bands that start off in other genres and decide to switch gears, and KILMARA have done so impressively with ”Journey to the Sun”, which is an excellent album from start to finish. Traces of their melodic metal roots can be found at points, with a nice mix of heavy and melodic guitars, as well as some nice electronic / synth sounding keys.
