CIRCUS MAXIMUS – Havoc In Oslo (2017)

Norwegian prog metallers CIRCUS MAXIMUS are releasing a new live album, “Havoc In Oslo“, via Frontiers Music today August 4th. It will be available on 2CD/DVD and 2CD/BluRay.
Last year Circus Maximus celebrated the release of their fourth studio album, Havoc, with a sold out show at the Rockefeller in Oslo, with a stunning live production to be perfectly captured on tape.

The band wanted to make this show one of the most memorable performances in Circus Maximus history and then to share this night with the world.
So, it was decided to capture the entire night with multiple high definition cameras for a release on both Blu-Ray and DVD as well as an audio component.

Musically the band offers the usual mixture of very heavy moments intertwined with extremely accessible melodies. Songs like ‘Pages’, ‘The Weight’ or the slow and melodic ‘Loved Ones’ (all from the last studio album Havoc) show the full range of the Circus Maximus sound.
Of course there’s compositions from the band’s previous works such as the dynamic ‘Forging’, the elaborated ‘Namaste’, and the sweet ‘Arrival Of Love’.

“Havoc In Oslo” was extremely well recorded with a pristine sound & mix, perhaps too much ‘crystal clear’ for a live album, but I prefer this type of sound for this kind on bands.
Circus Maximus are among the top acts in the melodic progressive metal field, and “Havoc In Oslo” confirm the band’s quality in spades.
