Fulfilling on their promise to release new music every year as was common place back in the 70s and early 80s, melodic hard rockers PLATINUM OVERDOSE are back with their third album “Standing On The Edge Of The Night“, featured in exclusive at 0dayrox.
After the release of their very well received debut album ‘Murder In High Heels’ in 2019 and their sophomore record ‘Back For The Thrill’, the band delivers here another slice of slick, melodic, punchy n’ catchy bunch of songs, and it sounds as every bit steeped in the ’80s – and proud of it.

Confirming a sharp ear for catchy choruses and wild solos, I can’t help but songs like ‘No Rest For the Wicked’, ‘Rock N’ Roll Rodeo’ (a personal favorite), ‘Generation Fire’, ‘Rebel Heart’ or their blistering cover of Tuff Luck’s ‘Tonight Tonight’, takes you back to the glory days of Warrant, Firehouse, Autograph, Hardline, and more.
All numbers are strongly influenced by these bands however PLATINUM OVERDOSE adds their own personality and a modern production, a vibrant mix, and above all – very good playing.

These are experienced cats in the business with Lance V. (bass) having produced and released two albums each from Steve Philbrook (vocals) and Rick Mead (lead guitar) former bands, Brass Kitten and Syre, while Matt Thorr is best known for his work in Rough Cutt and Ratt in their earlier years.
This is an album able to boast its raw DIY ethos without the use of any special production tricks, focusing instead on harnessing the best hooks and riffs that have previously shape many ’80s melodic hard rock classics.

Philbrook‘s vocal range is nothing short of phenomenal for this musical genre and it is obvious that the man has more than retained his great vocal cords almost 30 years later, and Mead drop some scorching solos over Thorr’s crunchy rhythm guitars creating that classic sleazy vibe.
Quite simply, if you like ’80s melodic hard rock, glam metal, sleazy and hair metal, you need to check out Platinum Overdose‘s new album ”Standing On The Edge Of The Night”.
