PHIL VINCENT – No Respect (2022)

Today July 20 is the release date for ”No Respect”, the next chapter in the PHIL VINCENT story. ”No Respect” is a wildly imaginative, unabashedly hard rocking album about battling to restore melody in heavy music. That’s has been Vincent passion for the last 20 years, and truth to be said, he succeeded.
You know what to expect from Vincent: he delivers a new solo album every year, and you have the usual cheap artwork… but the music packed inside is effective, rockin’ melodic, and with every new release Phil improves his performance and production.
Songwriting as always with Vincent is strong, convincing, and among the highlights we find “Nobody Cares” which struts its stuff with more than a dose of melody and mayhem. Drummer Max Piccolo really shines on “War Arrow” where Vincent’s different way of singing takes the song to a new level. “The Rifleman” has that fat guitar sound that induces air guitar utopia, so ’80s fashioned…

TRAGIK – Ultima Ratio (2021)

TRAGIK is one of the several bands from the always busy Phil Vincent, and one the the most long lasting. Their new CD “Ultima Ratio” is Tragik’s seventh overall, and for those who think the band has turned a bit repetitive all over the years, here Vincent & Co offers some refreshing material.
Always with longtime collaborators Damian D’Ercole (bass) and talented Vince O’Regan providing guitar solos, Tragik’s sound & style is classic American Hard Rock with driving melodies.
However this time “Ultima Ratio” the sonic approach is quite different, especially Vincent’s rhythm guitar work. He’s a skilled guitarist, and a good 6-string player not only is all about solos, but to create solid, effective song-backbone rhythms.
On most of the new “Ultima Ratio” songs, we can hear a crunchier guitar work like never before on a Tragik album, a places with a metallic edge recalling the classic ’80s US metal era. Add to that a darker feel, augmented by a groovier pulse.
Melodies and layered choruses are still the order of the day, wrapped by a solid clean production…

TRAGIK – Faith Healer (2020)

Faith Healer” is album number nine from TRAGIK, another band that features the musician that never sleeps – Phil Vincent. With TRAGIK he handles vocals, bass and keyboards on the album. The band also features guitarist Damian D’Ercole and drummer Dirk Phillips, both of whom are key to band’s overall sound.
TRAGIK are the masters of riff infused 80s style hard rock, be it ‘Faith’ which is rounded out with some tasty keys, or ‘Hanging By A String’, where the guitars, keys and pounding drums all combine effortlessly together.
Quite possibly the band’s best outing to date and one to play loud, enjoy and forget about all the crap going on in the world right now.
