PHIL VINCENT – No Respect (2022)
Today July 20 is the release date for ”No Respect”, the next chapter in the PHIL VINCENT story. ”No Respect” is a wildly imaginative, unabashedly hard rocking album about battling to restore melody in heavy music. That’s has been Vincent passion for the last 20 years, and truth to be said, he succeeded.
You know what to expect from Vincent: he delivers a new solo album every year, and you have the usual cheap artwork… but the music packed inside is effective, rockin’ melodic, and with every new release Phil improves his performance and production.
Songwriting as always with Vincent is strong, convincing, and among the highlights we find “Nobody Cares” which struts its stuff with more than a dose of melody and mayhem. Drummer Max Piccolo really shines on “War Arrow” where Vincent’s different way of singing takes the song to a new level.
“The Rifleman” has that fat guitar sound that induces air guitar utopia, so ’80s fashioned.
Phil Vincent never fails in delivering a good dose of ’80s / early ’90s influenced melodic hard rock. ”No Respect” isn’t an exception, a solid rocking album to get 41 minutes of good, well crafted rock n’ roll.
