DAN REED NETWORK – DRN Anthology [2CD] (2014-15)

As you may know, after the DAN REED NETWORK disbanded in the ’90s talented singer / songwriter Dan Reed pursue a solo career, and he is ready to release his new CD ‘Transmission’ the next month. But the old-school fans wanted a Dan Reed Network reunion, something that has materialized two years ago and continued at the end on 2014 with several shows.
Celebrating the comeback and to honor the live shows, Reed released “DRN Anthology”, a double CD including the group best songs chosen by different members of the band, plus a disc featuring lots of rarities.

Disc 1 is the first “Best Of” from the Dan Reed Network approved by Dan, and really gives you a clear picture of the best work of the DRN.
Disc 2 is a must have for the fans of the band and collectors in general, including no more no less than 15 rarities; several impossible to find B-sides, some new live recordings taped in Sweden, plus a couple of new remixes.

The three Dan Reed Network studio albums received positive reviews and sold pretty well, especially in Europe where the band still has a strong fan base.
They were some kind of pioneers blending heavy funk melodies with a gritty hard rock edge peppered with poppy hooks, pulled together in an ’80s radio-friendly production.

But there’s more great news for the Dan Reed Network fans around the globe: Dan Reed has confirmed few days ago that the 5 original members of DRN will enter the studio in 2015 to record their first album since 1991′s The Heat.

“DRN Anthology” is fantastic release to revisit this very good band, and a gem for collectors.
The remaster is excellent, with a perfect dynamic range (DR 12).
