While waiting for the 30th anniversary reissue of DEF LEPPARD‘s hit album Hysteria, we’ve been presenting here the band’s early catalog on high quality SHM-CD. But some of you just can’t wait… and asked for this out of print, “Hysteria Japan SHM-CD Deluxe Edition 2-mini-LP remastered Limited Edition” .

“Hysteria Japan SHM-CD Deluxe Edition 2-mini-LP remastered Limited Edition” is a terrific release indeed, as it not only includes a very good remaster of Hysteria plus the album single’s rare B-sides, but also an extra disc full or rarities.

This 2-Disc SHM-CD Deluxe Edition has become a collectors item.
Originally released as a Limited Edition, numbered pack, of course it went out of print soon.

Then as regularly happens with Japanese Reissues / Remasters, after a couple of years recording labels authorize a new reissue, sometimes with reduced price, sometimes in mini-LP replica, etc.

But with this “Hysteria Japan SHM-CD Deluxe Edition 2-disc remastered limited Edition” it never happened.
In fact, it never happened with most Def Leppard famous albums, because the band initiated an endless legal dispute with their ’80s Record Company, and all reissues were cancelled.

Do I need to review Def Leppard’s “Hysteria”? Not at all: it’s ESSENTIAL in your music collection.
Do you need this double SHM-CD or better wait for the upcoming 2017 remaster?
As said above, this release is a must have not only for completists but any Melodic Hard Rock fan because I doubt this double-CD version including this extra rare stuff (not to be present in the 2017 Anniversary reissue) will be reprinted again anytime soon.
