DEF LEPPARD – Hysteria [Japan SHM-CD new remaster / Limited Release] (2023) HQ *Exclusive*

A few days ago Universal Music Japan started a new reissue campaign of DEF LEPPARD albums pressed on SHM-CD, a Limited Edition release on miniLP faithfully replicating the album first edition LP in miniature and the original Japanese OBI. This reissue differs from the previous (now sold out) SHM-CD reissues, as features a new remastering.
Hysteria” is a classic, one of the best selling albums in history, and one of the best produced. This album sounds terrific. Every track sparkles and burns. There is no filler. Mutt Lange gets full credit as a co-composer. He is, in fact, the sixth Leppard — the one who takes their riffs and choruses and assembles them into spectacular tracks.
There’s the relentless big drums; the dazzling guitar montages; the impeccable sense of structure and separation; the preternatural clarity. None of which is to suggest that Lange could have made this album on his own. Def Leppard is a sharp, hot and dedicated stage band that really delivers live. Steve Clark and Phil Collen worked like a two-man guitar firestorm – note the pulsing slabs of sound they pump into “Rocket” and the keening leads on “Don’t Shoot Shotgun” and “Love and Affection”. Rick Allen (despite his accident) and bassist Rick Savage remain a formidable rhythm section, and singer Joe Elliott, this time out, has convincingly deepened his range…

DEF LEPPARD – Diamond Star Halos [Japan SHM-CD Deluxe Edition +2] (2022)

Diamond Star Halos” is the brand new album from DEF LEPPARD, their first since their chart topping self-titled Def Leppard record in 2015. Written by the band over the past two years it features 15 tracks including the anthemic, stadium-ready singles “Kick” and “Fire It Up”, with guest vocals from Alison Krauss on “This Guitar” and “Lifeless”. The album title references T. Rex’s “Bang a Gong (Get It On)” with nods to T.Rex, David Bowie and Mott The Hoople across the album, which mixes the sound of their classic spirit with modern fire.
This limited Deluxe Edition features two bonus tracks “Goodbye For Good This Time – Avant-garde Mix” and “Lifeless – Joe Only version” presented in a different, full colour cover on a digipak sleeve (the regular version cover art is black/white).

CMT Crossroads – Taylor Swift & Def Leppard [0dayrox rip]

Except their fanbase, few know that DEF LEPPARD did some years ago a performance for the country music channel CMT, in a duet with… country music star Taylor Swift and her band.
Taylor Swift and Def Leppard got together to perform each other’s songs during a taping for the CMT Crossroads concert series. Swift’s band and the British arena rock group simultaneously backed her and Def Leppard lead vocalist Joe Elliott throughout most of the taping. Song selections included Swift’s “Picture to Burn” and Def Leppard’s “Photograph,” “When Love and Hate Collide,” and “Hysteria”.
This material was requested by one of you, but the show only was released on DVD so the 0dayrox team ripped & edited the audio for all of you.
