Inviting further immersion into their dynamic catalog, Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees DEF LEPPARD have introduced a weekly series of thematic artist compilations, launching across platforms today and continuing every Friday through April 9.
Band members Joe Elliott, Rick Allen, Rick Savage, Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell personally curated these ten playlists by theme. Each weekly playlist showcases yet another side of the group through their music.
Today Feb. 12 we have the second playlist curated / assembled by Rick Allen, based on live takes of Def Lepp’s ’80s tunes.

‘The Early Years 79-81’ 5xCD boxset represents DEF LEPPARD’s first two albums, ‘On Through The Night’ (1980) and ‘High ‘N’ Dry’ (1981), and with 3 extra discs including previously unreleased material, it’s the definitive collection of the band’s early music.
The release has been prepared in conjunction with singer Joe Elliott, while the remastering has been done by the band’s long serving sound engineer Ronan McHugh. This Japanese box with all 5 discs pressed on SHM-CD sounds  fabulous.
‘The Early Years 79-81’ deluxe set comes with 5 discs consisting of the original Def Leppard 2 albums newly remastered, B-sides, rarities and remix versions, Radio One sessions, Live from Reading Festival, and the first ever appearance of an unreleased and newly mixed show from Oxford in 1980.
These remasters have been highly anticipated, and much requested, by Def Leppard fans globally…

Sheffield icons DEF LEPPARD launched “Volume Two” Box Set bringing together 1992’s Adrenalize, 1993’s Retro Active, 1996’s Slang and 1999’s Euphoria, all remastered. Also included in the package there’s 3 bonus CD’s: Rarities Vol.2, Vol.3 and Vol.4, which feature rare tracks, b-sides and live recordings from the ’90s, which have been compiled by Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott.
Volume One included all their ’80s albums plus rarities. Of course, Def Leppard’s Nineties catalog is the focus of the ‘Volume Two’ box set, which collects the decade’s LPs, B-sides, outtakes and more.

DEF LEPPARD – CD Box Set Volume One [7-CD Remastered Ltd. Edition] (2018)

Universal Music released this first DEF LEPPARD albums Box Set available on CD and vinyl. It’s the first of four planned volumes which will cover the band’s complete recorded output. “CD Collection Volume One” contains the band’s Eighties output: their first four albums, the killer concert Live at the LA Forum 1983, and a disc of rarities.
Additionally, set include a recreation of the band’s first EP ‘The Def Leppard EP’ which contains three songs recorded in 1978. This EP was issued in January 1979, 15 months before debut album On Through The Night was released.
