NAZARETH – The Fool Circle ’81 [Air Mail Archive Japan / Remastered + Bonus] *HQ*

As part of Ａ Ｉ Ｒ Ｍ Ａ Ｉ Ｌ Ａ Ｒ Ｃ Ｈ Ｉ Ｖ Ｅ Japanese label reissue campaign of NAZARETH albums featuring 24bit remastering and cardboard sleeve mini-LP replica, here’s 1981’s “The Fool Circle“, including bonus tracks. According to the label, this is a ‘24 Bit remaster 2006′ especially done by Yoshiro Kuzumaki for the Japanese market. Sound quality is excellent.
After effectively bridging the gap between hard rock and radio-friendly sounds on previous LP ‘Malice in Wonderland’, on this next album NAZARETH tried even more to conquer the American mainstream. The biggest problem with ”The Fool Circle” is the overbearing slickness of its production, which saps much of the energy from the proceeding by putting too heavy a focus on the pop elements of each song.
Hearing ”The Fool Circle” at places it’s hard to recognize that this NAZARETH. There’s some good songs on it of course, but pop-rock songs, not the bruising rocking band we all know. Anyway, it’s worth to listen to hear where these talented minds were at the beginning of the ’80s trying to relocate into the new decade…

NAZARETH – Surviving The Law (2022)

Frontiers Music will release the new album from the legendary Scottish rock band NAZARETH, “Surviving The Law” next April 15. These long-running UK hard rockers will enter their 54th year of existence in 2022 and the new album sees the band – which maintain the line-up of Jimmy Murrison (longest serving guitarist in the band’s history), Lee Agnew (drummer since Darrel Sweet’s death in 1999), Pete Agnew (founding member, on bass) and vocalist powerhouse Carl Sentance – in full form.
One of the iconic factors that made Nazareth special was the raspy voice of frontman Dan McCafferty. His vocals have been a unique element when it comes to the sound of the British quartet. Unfortunately, and due to health issues, McCafferty had to leave the band in 2014 and the question if to continue with the band or not was quickly answered.
With the blessing of the former singer, Nazareth onboarded with Carl Sentance a very talented vocalist and the journey continues…

HEAVY METAL – Music From The Motion Picture [Vinyl LP reissue] (2017)

After many requests, here’s in exclusive the legendary “HEAVY METAL : Music From The Motion Picture“, in its 2-LP recent release. This is part of the Rhino Records ‘Rocktober’ series, an annual campaign featuring limited edition vinyl releases of classic albums, issued in October, 2017.
The 2-LP release is only available in the U.S. and Canada, already sold out now and very expensive.
‘Heavy Metal’ is a 1981 Canadian-American adult animated sci-fi-fantasy film based in the Heavy Metal Magazine, which was the basis for the film. Like the magazine, the film features a great deal of graphic violence, sexuality, and nudity, censored at various countries.
The movie soundtrack features songs inspired by the story, but most the artists involved aren’t musically ‘heavy metal’ at all. The term is used here into other context.
Musically, “HEAVY METAL : Music From The Motion Picture” offers more than the title suggests, and the songs fit perfectly with their respective film segments. Most songs from the likes of Journey, Cheap Trick, Blue Oyester Club, etc, are exclusive to this soundtrack, some never appeared into any other release, some are different from the originals, noted as ‘Soundtrack Version’.
