BUCK DHARMA – Archive [unreleased & rarities 3xCD digitally remastered] *Exclusive*

Donald Bruce Roeser more commonly known by his stage name BUCK DHARMA, is one of Blue Öyster Cult founding members and wrote & sang the lead vocals on many of the band’s best-known hits, including “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper,” “Godzilla” and “Burnin’ for You.” In the early ’80s Dharma need some room to express other musical ideas and ending releasing a solo album.
As requested, here’s the BUCK DHARMA ‘Archive‘ album series including material he recorded at the time but never released. The 3-CD contain original song demos for legendary songs like “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and “Burnin’ for You” as well as unreleased recordings like “Devil’s Nail” and “Pack of Lies”.
The discs also show you the more melodic side of of the musician, all featuring the songwriting finesse and guitar virtuosity of Buck Dharma and complemented with various audio oddities, jams and humorous songs.
All tracks were digitally remastered by Buck himself in his home studio.
There’s a lot to enjoy here from the atmospheric early version of ‘Shooting Shark’, the AORish ‘Stone of Love’, to the primo melodic rock circa 1982 on the different ‘Spy in the House of the Night’, and of course the very original version of ‘Don’t Fear the Reaper’ which worth this collection alone…

BUCK DHARMA – Flat Out [Rock Candy collector’s edition]

Blue Oyster Cult’s founder member, songwriter and lead guitarist Donald BUCK DHARMA Roeser released back in the ’80s his first solo LP “Flat Out“, for many years very hard to find. Rock Candy Records made the album available again, now with a 24-bit remastering treatment from original source tapes.
During BOC’s very successful career, Buck Dharma started to accumulate a back-log of quality songs that simply were not BOC-compatible. Already known as the member of the band with the softer and melodic side, many of his contributions to BOC tended to be less abrasive and more melodically suited to radio.
Even when Roeser first demoed ‘Don’t Fear the Reaper’ to the band, his bandmates thought ‘Reaper’ was too soft for BOC. Rumor has it that either lead singer-guitarist Eric Bloom or drummer Albert Bouchard threatened to quit if ‘Reaper’ was included on their next album ‘Agents Of Fortune’ (the song become the most famous BOC’s single ever).
With “Flat Out” Dharma was able to showcase his more personal musical side without the hard rock / metal expectation associated with Blue Oyster Cult…

JOE BOUCHARD (Blue Oyster Cult) – American Rocker (2022)

Former Blue Öyster Cult bassist JOE BOUCHARD will a release a new solo album entitled “American Rocker“, a 11-track collection of brand new songs that will be released on June 3. As Joe explains, “American Rocker is a musical journey of my life as a rock star,” adding, “I feel lucky to live a life of music, and to be fulfilling my wildest dreams.”
That spirit is pretty well on spot on the melodic classic rocker ‘In the Golden Age’ that finds him reflecting on the band’s 1970s heyday, about the early shows of Blue Öyster Cult when they began playing big shows on the West Coast of the U.S.
There’s many other fun and nostalgic stories of what used to be into a rock n’ roll band, something missing nowadays and something that in one way or another led to write good, authentic rock songs…

ALBERT BOUCHARD – Imaginos 2 ; Bombs Over Germany [Minus Zero and Counting] (2021)

ALBERT BOUCHARD is one of the founding members of BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, a band that with the original line-up sold millions of albums for Columbia Records with such classic songs as “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and the #1 hit “Burning For You”. Bouchard contributed to songwriting, drums, and lead vocals on some of their greatest songs, such as “Cites on Flame with Rock and Roll”.
With the success of his ‘Re-Imaginos’ album last year, Albert Bouchard is now back with “Imaginos 2 – Bombs Over Germany (minus zero and counting)”, continuing the Trilogy of Imaginos, a concept album about an alien conspiracy that is brought to fruition during the late 19th and early 20th century through the actions of Imaginos, an agent of evil.
The album weaves scripts and poems by the late Sandy Pearlman, features guests Ross The Boss (Dictators, Manowar), Joe Cerisano (Silver Condor, TSO), and reunites original Blue Öyster Cult members Eric Bloom, Donald “Buck Dharma” Roeser and Joe Bouchard, as well current BOC member Richie Castellano, who all contribute to this latest installment.
The album also features reworks of classics like “Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll”, “The Red and the Black”, and “Dominance and Submission”…

HEAVY METAL – Music From The Motion Picture [Vinyl LP reissue] (2017)

After many requests, here’s in exclusive the legendary “HEAVY METAL : Music From The Motion Picture“, in its 2-LP recent release. This is part of the Rhino Records ‘Rocktober’ series, an annual campaign featuring limited edition vinyl releases of classic albums, issued in October, 2017.
The 2-LP release is only available in the U.S. and Canada, already sold out now and very expensive.
‘Heavy Metal’ is a 1981 Canadian-American adult animated sci-fi-fantasy film based in the Heavy Metal Magazine, which was the basis for the film. Like the magazine, the film features a great deal of graphic violence, sexuality, and nudity, censored at various countries.
The movie soundtrack features songs inspired by the story, but most the artists involved aren’t musically ‘heavy metal’ at all. The term is used here into other context.
Musically, “HEAVY METAL : Music From The Motion Picture” offers more than the title suggests, and the songs fit perfectly with their respective film segments. Most songs from the likes of Journey, Cheap Trick, Blue Oyester Club, etc, are exclusive to this soundtrack, some never appeared into any other release, some are different from the originals, noted as ‘Soundtrack Version’.

BLUE OYSTER CULT – Live ’83 [the mythical concert] (2020)

By special arrangement with BLUE OYSTER CULT and its management, Real Gone Music / Columbia Legacy Recordings are releasing for the first time officially on CD the band’s complete July 24, 1983 concert at Perkins Palace in Pasadena, CA, titled “Live ’83“, regarded as one of the band’s finest live recording ever.
Originally on LP vinyl only in last year’s Black Friday Record Store Day release, the tapes of this show have circulated among fans for decades and have been several bootlegs.
Now properly remastered / silver pressed, you can tell the reputation of this show was well earned, as BOC was playing on all cylinders and the tapes managed to capture it all, first-rate from start to finish.

BLUE OYSTER CULT – Live at Rock of Ages Festival 2016 (2020)

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT and Frontiers Music Srl continue their release of archival treasures from the band’s vault with the December 4 release of “Live At Rock Of Ages Festival 2016“. BÖC played, as they always do, an inspired set on the second day of the Rock Of Ages festival 2016 in Seebronn, Germany.
One of the band’s few appearances on German soil in the past few years, the set is now available for fans to enjoy. The band ripped through an extremely solid and memorable performance that kicks off with “This Ain’t The Summer Of Love” and closes with their evergreen hit “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper”.
In between, BÖC delivers with hot updated takes on gems like “Burnin’ For You”, “Golden Age Of Leather”, “Then Came The Last Days Of May” and “Godzilla”.
Strong n’ rocking recommended stuff.

BLUE OYSTER CULT – A Long Day’s Night (Frontiers Music remaster 2020)

Frontiers Music continue with their welcomed reissue of BLUE OYSTER CULT‘s catalog, now it’s time for “A Long Day’s Night“. Originally released in 2002, “A Long Day’s Night” is now being reissued on CD/DVD, Blu-ray, and Vinyl. The audio appearing on all formats has been completely restored and remastered to achieve a stunning new listening experience.
Recorded live at the Navy Pier / Skyline Stage in Chicago, Blue Öyster Cult’s “A Long Day’s Night” celebrates, at the time, 30+ years of incredible music from the band. This release truly highlights the band’s phenomenal career up until that point in time.
The memorable show is titled “A Long Day’s Night” because it took place during the summer solstice. Guitarist/vocalists Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma, keyboardist/guitarist Allen Lanier, and their bandmates regale a revved-up crowd with Cult classics like “Burnin’ for You,” “Last Days of May,” “Godzilla,” and, of course, “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper.”

ALBERT BOUCHARD (Blue Oyster Cult) – Re-Imaginos (2020)

BLUE ÖYSTER CULT’s founder member ALBERT BOUCHARD is releasing his fresh, new version of “Re Imaginos” through his own imprint label, RockHeart Records. The album is Albert’s re-imagining of the 1988 BLUE ÖYSTER CULT LP “Imaginos”, which was originally intended as Albert’s solo album.
As Albert explains: “Most BOC fans know at this point that ‘Imaginos’ was supposed to be my solo album. Some people think it’s the best BOC album, others think it’s not a ‘true’ BOC album. In either case, they’re right. I made this new album for them so that they can hear a more properly realized version of the tale.”
An Eighties landmark re-made and remodeled with great results.

BLUE OYSTER CULT – The Symbol Remains (2020)

The Symbol Remains” is the upcoming fifteenth studio album by BLUE OYSTER CULT, scheduled to be released on October 9, 2020 by Frontier Records. It is the band’s first studio album since 2001, marking their longest gap between records with 19 years.
The album showcases a band who hasn’t been slowed by the time passed, sounding better than ever. ”The Symbol Remains” is one of the band’s most spirited, diverse, and inspired releases to date.
As the old saying goes, ‘good things come to those who wait’ and the 14 new songs on display here embody that. The band’s fans will be delighted given that they have delivered an extremely elaborated album which ultimately sounds like a band looking back at their storied catalogue and giving the fans a bit of everything they’ve ever loved about BÖC, while simultaneously continuing to evolve.
Highly Recommended

With the unique, resonating sound of Blue Öyster Cult still humming in my ears, ”Strange Legends”, the 6th solo release from their famed bassist JOE BOUCHARD is more than a welcome treat. A member of BÖC’s classic line up during their most successful period earning 9 gold and 2 platinum awards, Bouchard co-wrote many of the greatest BÖC songs.
They say legends never die, and on this record Bouchard goes a long way to proving it.
