Really interesting albums to be released this Summer… and beyond. Let’s check some advanced singles.
HEARTS ON FIRE is a new awesome AOR band formed in 2017 by guitarist Jean Funes (Sound Of Eternity), and with the help of drummer Joel Mejia (Codigo Eterno) they begun to work in new songs ideas and sketches. Soon many well known names joined to collaborate, as example Dennis Ward to mix / mastering. The first advance titled as the band, ‘Hearts On Fire’, features Eclipse’s Erik Martensson playing bass & keyboards, as well as mixing. Fantastic stuff!

Dutch genius Robby VALENTINE will release his new album The Alliance soon, and has just presented the second single from it, titled ‘Judgement Day’. This is a pure melodic rock song, easily, in years, the most close to the sound of his terrific debut album.

Joe Lynn Turner’s SUNSTORM project will release its fifth album, “The Road To Hell” via Frontiers Music. We have the second single ‘The Road to Hell’, much more punchy than the previous one, a great mix of classic melodic hard rock and AOR.

I love Swedes THE GRAND MASQUERADE. Their debut EP is delicious, and the band is working right now on their full length debut. The first single from the sessions has surfaced, titled ‘The Chosen Ones’. The song is true melodic rock heaven.

Also from Sweden, rockers HARDCORE SUPERSTAR have released a new single, ‘Bring the House Down’, via Gain Music Entertainment. The song is taken from the band’s forthcoming 11th studio album, “You Can’t Kill My Rock ‘N’ Roll”, which is due later in the year. The song is an anthemic, sing-along chorus driven rocker.

For decades, cult US metallers LIZZY BORDEN has been one of theatrical rock’s top acts. This month, Borden will issue his first album in 11 years, ‘My Midnight Things’, via Metal Blade Records. Second advance ‘Long May They Haunt Us’ really surprised me: it’s a melodic hard rocker with an European feel, and a killer one!
Amanda Somerville returns with a new TRILLIUM album, entitled ‘Tectonic’. “Shards” is the second advance, much more melodic hard rock oriented than the project previous efforts, and I like it.

Known for being Alice Cooper guitarist (among others) RYAN ROXIE has a solo career as well. He is releasing a new album, and some singles with it. “To Live and Die in L.A.” is not a cover of the old Wang Chung song, but a rocking Roxie original.

Germany’s metal stalwarts PRIMAL FEAR premiere a new song called “Hounds of Justice”, taken from their upcoming new album “Apocalypse”, which which is set for an Aug. 10 release via Frontiers Music. Apocalypse was recorded at Hansen Studios in Denmark and was mixed by engineer Jacob Hansen. The song is catchy, quite groovy and with a pristine production sound.

Finnish melodic heavy rockers LEVERAGE breaks the silence and comes back on track with new single and new line-up. The song it’s called ‘Red Moon over Sonora’, and after listen to it I can see why the band has been singed by Frontiers Music few weeks ago: a really melodic midtempo tune.

Female fronted modern rockers HALESTORM will release its fourth album, “Vicious”, on July 27 via Atlantic. The first single from the disc, “Uncomfortable” has been released, a strong track with polished production.
The song “Crimson Bow And Arrow” from Dutch symphonic metal giants EPICA has surfaced. It is taken from the band’s “Attack On Titan”, which will be made available outside of Japan on July 20 via Nuclear Blast Records.

Young New York melodic rockers TEMPT surprised us some time a go with their fresh version of Def Leppard’s ‘Women’, now the guys have recorded a bunch of new covers. Taste their quite different version of Queen’s classic ‘We Will Rock You’.

Vocalist JOE CERISANO fronted cult melodic / AOR act Silver Condor in the early ’80s. Now a 2-CD compilation of unreleased recording will be released as Joe Cerisano’s Silver Condor “Studio Cuts, Rarities and Live Across America”, imited to 500 units only. The song ‘Holdin’ On’ is a delicious AOR tune with that first half of the Eighties magic. Love it.
