The Lost UK Jewels Vol.19 SAVANNAH NIX – A Long Time Ago… (2020)

“The Lost UK Jewels Vol.19” ; SAVANNAH NIX - A Long Time Ago Does Not Mean F**k All full
HERE

Here’s the new installment of the excellent “The Lost UK Jewels” series, this Vol.19 featuring London melodic hard rockers SAVANNAH NIX‘s all material ever recorded by the band under the title “A Long Time Ago Does Not Mean F**k All“.
Taken from the original master tapes and professionally remastered – including the two songs appeared on the “Metal for Muthas ’92” compilation issued in Japan by Pony Canyon – the release adds a deluxe full colour 16 page booklet plenty of unseen pics, flyers, memorabilia and the usual extensive liner notes by journalist Rob Evans.

SAVANNAH NIX was founded in London during 1987 and their first tunes originally composed by Swiss-Spanish vocalist Dave Rubio (later replaced by Marc Huckle), guitarists Colin “Alexander” Bowles and Max Numa (previously known for his metal band Hallowed), Mark Goodchild on bass (later replaced by Karl Chappell) and drummer Ramsey Bishara (later replaced by Jules Fayleparr).
SAVANNAH NIX officially released two demo-tapes (professionally recorded) during the 1988-1989 period, with a third one and some more songs recorded and never released to the public.

With a strong image (“Kerrang!” called them “girlie contingent”) and a very intriguing sound influenced by bands like Skid Row, Dokken, Motley Crue and Ratt, SAVANNAH NIX played the England live-circuit for some years, trying, in the meantime, to find the right label-deal.
Unfortunately for them the deal never arrived, although the band had been contacted by the likes of MCA Records, Music For Nations and Sanctuary management.

This new “Lost UK Jewels” release features all the material ever recorded by the band, the very well produced and performed demos – which never were officially released until now anyway – and the shelved 1992 tapes.
These guys got the chops, some amazing songwriting for the genre, and while strongly American MHR influenced, they also had a British feeling on their music as well.
