WHITESNAKE – Love Songs 2020 Remixes [+3 previously unreleased] (2020)
Simply titled “Love Songs“, this is the new WHITESNAKE 15-track collection presenting ‘Revisited, Remixed And Remastered Versions’ of the band’s best Love Songs, plus Unreleased Tracks from David Coverdale’s Into The Light.
The album includes a mix of hits and deep tracks that were originally released between 1987 and 2011 on five Whitesnake studio albums and David Coverdale’s third solo album, Into the Light.
Like ‘The ROCK’ Album, Coverdale says all the tracks on LOVE SONGS have been revisited, remixed and remastered. “Some have been musically embellished where my co-producer Michael McIntyre, my new mixer Christopher Collier and I felt it appropriate or necessary to bring out the best in these songs,” he explains.
Among the favorites, there’s a fresh, new remix of one of Whitesnake’s biggest hits, “Is This Love” from the band’s multi-platinum self-titled album. The group’s next album, Slip of the Tongue (1989), is represented here by the hit singles “The Deeper The Love” and “Now You’re Gone.”
In addition to the songs “Don’t You Cry” and “Midnight Blue,” taken from Coverdale’s album ‘Into the LIGHT’, the set also introduces three previously unreleased outtakes from the same sessions: “With All Of My Heart,” “Yours For The Asking,” and “Let’s Talk It Over.”
Not all are ballads. Some are out and out rockers with powerful romantic themes. The album’s Restless Heart (1997), Good to Be Bad (2008), and Forevermore (2011) are also represented on the compilation with multiple tracks (“Too Many Tears,” “Summer Rain,” and “Easier Said Than Done”).
The new remixes turned the songs slightly ‘spacey’, but don’t worry, all still are the tunes you love. Some are benefited by some kind of a ‘glued’ rhythm section, coming out of the speakers more compacted to give the vocals room to shine.

Strange that it has Into The Light songs but not includes Love Is Blind which I think is by far the best song on that album and even had a pretty good video clip.
Agree
Great upload (as with the previous two) but I’m on my 3rd term of trying to quantify how or even why these releases were made and released. The songs are of course fabulous and in many examples, timeless but why tweak them? As with the 2 previous releases I’ve found myself waiting for a certain guitar lick or drumbeat or vocal. And then when it doesn’t arrive I’m left wanting. I just can’t comprehended how a classic song needs an update or an addition or a newer sound. What WS has done for countless decades stands on its own merits. The new tracks are worth a listen yes but the rest of the album, like its predecessors will remain questionable at best from me………. an insanely obsessive WS fan of years passed!
