Some say ‘CD’s don’t sell’ but Albany, New York based WITHIN THE FIRE almost sold-out their album “Still Burning“, and now are reissuing this beast on vinyl LP.
“Still Burning” is a kick ass metal album the best US tradition, plenty of melodies, melting riffs & solos, a punchy rhythm section and clean vocals. Think a mix of IMPELLITERI, VICIOUS RUMORS and ADRENALINE MOB.
Apart from the strong songwriting, what impresses here is the top notch production for an indie release.
If you like your classic US metal mixed with modern guitar work technique you’ll love “Still Burning”. Regarding this genre there’s not a weak track here and all are varied, with different production design to avoid repetition.
While the overall output is high octane metal the band is always focused on melody, not unnecessary notes are wasted, and the nine tracks flow easily to make you bang your head and have a good metal time.
