To be released October 22, today we have in worldwide exclusive at 0dayrox the new album from German melodic rocker DAN LUCAS, titled ”The Long Road”.
DAN LUCAS first came to fame in the German Democratic Republic during the early ’80s as the front man of different successful groups. After his escape from the GDR, he moved to West Berlin where he soon became the singer of classic German Hard Rock group KARO who released the album “Heavy Birthday” in 1988.
Then Lucas moved to Munich and put out his wonderful solo debut “Canada” including songs recorded with musicians from LOVERBOY and Manny Charlton (NAZARETH) participating, a great AOR album for sure.
Now, after exactly 25 years since his last solo album, DAN LUCAS is back with a precious set of new songs with his classic trademark sound, mature AOR tunes with some points in common with the likes of RICHARD MARX, MARK SPIRO, BRETT WALKER, DESMOND CHILD, etc

Numerous guests including Robin Beck, Lisa Dalbello, John Pierce, Kane Roberts, Michael Landau & Reb Beach appeared Lucas’ second solo album. This record was recorded in Burbank, California and includes the track “Close Your Eyes And Say Goodbye” which Dan wrote together with Desmond Child.
In 1996, the singer changed to the Arcade label which put out the album “News” in the same year.
Since then Dan Lucas continued active in the music business performing live, writing & arranging for others, etc.

In 2018/2019, Dan Lucas won the casting show “Voice Of Germany Senior” which brought him massive attention both from fans and media alike. In the following time, he joined the Rock Meets Classic 2019 tour and released a studio cover version of JOURNEY’s smash hit “Don’t Stop Believin’” via Universal Music Germany.
We added this single here as “0dayrox extra”, it really worth the listen!

“The Long Road” born with the necessity for Lucas to express his feelings during the Covid-19 lockdown – when no live performances were possible – and he found time to write over a twenty-five new songs. This lead to the first Dan Lucas studio album in over two decades.
“The Long Road” includes midpaced melodic rockers, some mellow / some rocking, and a bonus track taken from the musical “Jack The Ripper” of which Lucas was part, a surprisingly hard rocking number showcasing how a versatile performer Dan Lucas is.
Highly Recommended
