MISSDEMEANOR – The Metal Years (The Original Band) 1984-1987
Also requested alongside their 1991 album ‘Once Upon A Crime’, here’s New Yorkers all-female rockers MISSDEMEANOR original ’80s material, songs / demos recorded between 1984-1987. Named after UFO’s LP ‘Misdemeanor’ – they were big fans at the time – the girls added the play on words with the “Miss”.
Founders of the band Jacki Lombardo (bass) and Linda McSherry (guitar) still were part of MissDemeanor when they recorded the hard rocking ‘Once Upon A Crime’ in the early Nineties, but on these ’80s demos the rest of the line-up is different, and the musical style also.
On the ”The Metal Years (The Original Band)” songs MissDemeanor were an edgy, sharp US metal band with songs driven by razor riffs and pounding drums. Original singer Chris Crash had a raspy voice, and overall the style is heavy and metallic.
The sound quality is fine, demo quality, enough to appreciate these fiery young girls doing hot metal in a time when women in rock didn’t get the recognition they deserved.
Rare stuff.
