RANDY GOODRUM - Fool's Paradise [Japan Golden Era Of Rock series remastered] (2021) HQ full

As they did with their ”HR-HM 1000” series reissuing long time out of print albums from their Hard Rock / Heavy Metal catalog at the price of 1000 Yen = about 9 USD, Universal Music Japan did the same with a few rock&pop albums released between 1976-1985 which have been hard to find on CD for decades.
Titled ”Golden Era Of Rock 1000“, the Vol.2 / second batch from the series covering 1976-1985 appeared at the end of 2021, included this WestCoast AOR little gem, RANDY GOODRUM 1982’s “Fool’s Paradiseremastered. Incredibly, the album never has been released on CD in te USA.
RANDY GOODRUM was one of the most requested songwriters from it generation, and got the chance for a solo career as well. Indeed, the star on ”Fool’s Paradise” is the varied, clever songwriting crafting lovely melodies with sooth, finely arranged harmonies.
The session personnel is top notch of course, including a dude named Jeff Porcaro playing drums on all tracks providing his magical shuffle.

RANDY GOODRUM not only has contributed to many major artists with his delicate pen / arrangements, but also played keyboards into countless albums. His work with WestCoast AOR master Jay Graydon is recognized among both musicians finest moments.
As performer, Randy’s voice and lyrics are silky smooth, and he likes to surround every track with rich harmony vocals, as is the case with “Fool’s Paradise” track list.

Produced by Elliot Scheiner of Steely Dan / Eagles fame, you know exactly what to expect here; a pristine, crystal clear sound with room for atmospheres.
Highly Recommended
