Talent and class are the keywords for RICHARD MARX to be one of the few 80s hitmakers to still keep relevant in the current music business. After 35 years Marx is still signed by a major international record company, and still sell CD’s.
As requested, here’s “LIMITLESS”, yes, with capitals, Richard 2020 first full length album of original songs in six years, as well as his first release for BMG. Produced in part by Marx and featuring co-writes with Sara Bareilles, Richard’s son Lucas Marx and his wife Daisy Fuentes, “LIMITLESS” represents a new beginning for the celebrated singer-songwriter.
While his previous album ‘Beautiful Goodbye’ closed the book on one chapter of Richard’s life, “LIMITLESS”’ opens a new one. After falling back in love, remarrying and settling into a new home in LA, “I’ve never felt so intrinsically strong and optimistic about my future,” Richard says, and the bright, heartfelt rock&pop / melodic rock of “LIMITLESS” reflects that feeling.

Shortly after signing with BMG in 2020, the label celebrated the 30th anniversary of his breakout album ‘Repeat Offender’ by releasing ‘Repeat Offender Revisited,’ a compilation of brand new live and acoustic versions of songs from the original album, including his hit song “Right Here Waiting.”
It was a nice release, and in my opinion mush better that the laid back ‘Beautiful Goodbye’.

But “LIMITLESS” is the real thing; this new album is right up there with Marx best and probably his finest work since Paid Vacation back in 1994. It’s classic Richard Marx all over, with uptempo melodic rockers, his unique ballads and a couple of modern tunes, yet with an eye put in the late 80s.

I saw Marx live some months ago. He’s intact. The album cover may have a little photoshop but the man looks great in person, something reflected in his untouched vocal pipes and his knack for creating amazing melodies.
“LIMITLESS” is very, very good. Needless to say production is excellent. They don’t make albums like this anymore…
