Exceptional bass player and composer ALBERTO RIGONI has played and recorded with the best, and since 2008 started a solo career releasing very good albums featuring the who’s who in the metal, hard rock and progresssive scene.
Tomorrow Rigoni is set to release an new album called ”Unexpected Lullabies”, a true original idea never done before – dedicated to all new born babies (“There are no just tragedies in this world, life is going on!” – says Alberto).
The album contains songs that will be half sweet and half rock-metal. Produced and partially composed by Alberto Rigoni, includes some cover songs and again a cast of renowned musicians such as vocalsits Göran Edman, Jonas Erixon (Alicate), John Jeff Touch (Lars Eric Mattsson), keyboardists Alessandro Bertoni (Graham Bonnet Band) and Vitalij Kuprij (Artension, Trans-Siberian Orchestra), legendary bassist Michael Manring, and many more.
On ”Unexpected Lullabies” talented keybordist Vitalij Kuprij final recording (he passed away last February, 50 years old) and you can hear Göran Edman performing the classic song “Strangers In The Night” (made famous by Frank Sinatra). It has been said Edman can sing anything, and if there was some thing he needed to proof is to put himself in Sinatra’s shoes. The version here, of course, and rock in sound & style.

Member of TwinSpirits, Lady, The Bass, from session player for Don Airey to co-producer of the Vivaldi Metal Project, Alberto rapidly gained audience in the international progressive rock music scene for inventive genre-crossing compositions that paint alluring soundscapes comprehensible to wide varieties of listeners, yet artistically sophisticate and individualistic enough to sustain one’s attention once gained.

Nicely balanced between interesting instrumentals and vocal rockers, the music manages to dazzle the listener without making it a ‘wizard player’ album. Rigoni’s eclectic mix of influences and styles proves him to be a complete musician who fully explores the limits of his instrument of choice. He is an outstanding performer whether delivering simple rhythms or pounding out complex riffs. Alberto never neglects the melodic elements of songwriting and plays with his heart, not just his fingers.

This album isn’t just any release; it’s a bold exploration of sound, merging the soothing essence of lullabies with the raw energy of rock-metal to create a musical hybrid that’s quite unique. Rigoni’s latest venture is a heartfelt ode to the circle of life, dedicated to newborns everywhere, symbolizing hope and the beautiful continuity of life with the poignant message: “There are no just tragedies in this world, life is going on!”
A solid melodic progressive / rock&pop album.
