JOHN MILES – The Albums 1983-93 [Cherry Red Records / Lemon 3-CD Box Remastered] (2024) *HQ*

…And one day, finally happened: one of the greatest AOR albums from the mid-80s finally received a proper remastered reissue; JOHN MILES 1985’s ‘Transition’. This occurs as part of the really welcomed Cherry Red Records / Lemon Recordings just released 3-CD Box “The Albums 1983-93”.
As its title implies, “The Albums 1983-93” takes the 3 albums JOHN MILES released during the decade. And there’s more good news: 1983’s ‘Play On’ gets its first release on CD ever. And all albums come with bonus tracks.
There’s also the very good, smooth 1993’s ”Upfront”, but the star here is ‘Transition’, a wonderful AOR album regarded by fans of the genre as a true gem. Bootlegged many times, never with a fine sound quality, now we have it here in all its glory. This album worth the Box admission alone.

The first disc is 1983’s ‘Play On’, making its debut on CD. Produced by Gus Dudgeon (known for his work with Elton John) the album features the singles ‘Song For You’ and ‘The Right To Sing’ and now also comes with the addition of two non-LP, non-CD B-sides.
Disc two is 1985’s ‘Transition’ album, released as the John Miles Band and appearing here on CD for the first time. It features the singles ‘Blinded’ and ‘I Need Your Love’ plus the non-LP non-CD ‘Good So Bad’ among the bonus tracks.
The final disc is 1993’s ‘Upfront’ album which includes the singles ‘What Goes Around’, ‘Oh How The Years Go By’ and ‘One More Day’.

All albums are finely remastered with a clear sound quality. The box is quite cheap so this is the time to finally get ‘Transition’, and the other fine albums as extra.
